An Unusual Partnership

Alexis had not meant for things to take this long, but the logistics involved in packing up a mother and child were astronomical, and tracking down the Bubasti and his daughter had not been easy either. Plus she had discovered she hadn't brought a map with her, so she'd sent a messanger back to the estate for one.

Fingers raked through rich loam tresses, chocolate depths eying the inky shadows now tainting those gentle curls, "you are why he said yes" The words were a soft murmur as they fell from her lips, as she remembered the look in Bakari's eyes, the way he had bowed before her temper and given her the answer she ahd wished.

No sweet Alexis, he recognised what you are, what we are becomming that is why he said yes The others voice, was more closely resembeling an echo of her own thoughts now, they were truly starting to merge, a welcome offshoot of them searching for ashfiend.

"your probably right" More and more often she was deferring to the voice, trusting its advice and as yet it had not steered her wrong.
Map was rolled carefully now and tied with a ribbon before being tucked away in her coat and then she was striding from the room and out of the house.

Soft whistle brought Tasyr to her, the stallion already saddled and with a laugh she would swing into the seat, as always not astride but seated side saddle, a soft flick of the riens and she would turn his head towards the waystation. it was past time to make her delivery and set the final arrangements. Doing business with Khalika was going to prove most interesting
