[[OOC: In reference to Chimera.]]
Blood curdling scream...
A sudden wave of pain washed over him as he stirred, his inhale labored and ears ringing--but nothing would deter him from answering her call.. not now, not ever once in the past. When they were younger, his beloved sister had always experienced night terrors and he would always come to her side, to cope her in wakening, to soothe the tears that had always found her eyes. Tonight would be no different, so he thought. Yet, the scream had been something more, had been more desperate, more meaningful than one belonging to a simple nightmare. And as another pierced the air, and inspired other forms to rush past his opened bedroom door, his worst fears had been confirmed--his beloved sister was in dire trouble.
With a sudden sense of survival instinct, Selenthis rose from the chair in which he had fallen asleep, thin hand falling to his side and thumbing the sword that hung there... right beneath a deep wound that gushed blood without his notice. To him, his movements were fluid and direct, not the stumbling mess that was born out of reality and, because he was so consumed with rushing to his sister's aid, he never noticed the puddles of blood he had been leaving behind in his wake, nor remembered the dream that had assaulted his subconscious. Yes, had he noticed these things, he would have quickened his movements, and surely would have noted that he was quickly losing precious life blood. To her continued screams, near and yet so far away, he whispered weakly, "Sarayn.. I am coming." as his stumbling legs brought him to her opened door.
His sister sat upright in her bed, sobbing uncontrollably with Alya at her side, the sheets, her bed clothes, even she herself, covered in a thick coat of blood. Sarayn was the first to react to his presence, and it seemed as if she had been moving like that of molasses, jumping from her bed and screaming, "Selenthis!"
"Selenthis, you are bleeding!" Alya exclaimed, soon moving to rush to his side.
He looked down, narrowing his eyes through blurred vision, and finally saw the fountain of blood streaming from his side. His hand dropped to the wound, and turned over, covered in the crimson fluid he had been spewing all over the floor. With gray eyes dim, and voice weak, he whispered, "Sarayn.." before falling away into a world of blackness and down hard onto the ground.
"Selenthis!"
Sarayn screamed his name over and over through her tears, kneeling next to him and cradling his head in her arms. The wound he had suffered had been grievous, she knew, and would surely kill him if they didn't move quickly enough. Her own were superficial; slash marks to the face, a split lip and more that were mere grazes across her delicate skin--all that could be ignored in light of far more important matters. In light of this, of her brother so hurt in her arms, her mind traveled to the unspoken and possible outcome. Without him, she would surely die, surely not want to live any longer and she held onto him tightly as if it would be the only thing that saved him. Nothing else mattered to her, and her world was oblivious to everything else but his plight. Though Alya was working furiously next to her to aid her fallen brother, Sarayn screamed, "Please! Someone help us!" to anyone that would hear--mortal or god alike.
The compound had far ago begun to stir, rushing to the aid of their fallen king and queen in response to the screams, and desperate cries for help.
