A notice will be distributed from the Hold:

Interested parties seek a Personal Assistant to start immediately. Applicants must be highly motivated, capable of following precise instructions without question or complaint. Applicants must be trustworthy, diligent, physically capable, and must adhere to strident standards of style, manner and hygiene, or be utterly willing to submit to such personal improvements. This position is suitable only for the long-suffering and patient, who demonstrate very small doses of personality, if any -- if you are not equipped with these traits, you will not survive employment. Long hours. Room and board are provided; wages are generous but dependent on skill and level of perseverance during probation.

Must have neutral political orientation.

To One Mna. Genny Tolleson

Postby Rance » Mon Jul 15, 2013 3:01 am

The notice was taken from the wall of a cobbler's shop, folded carefully, and accompanied with a hand-written missive. The seamstress left both sheets in an envelope affixed with a wax seal at the Broken Dagger, to be provided once again by the bartender.

The name was properly spelled this time.

Dear Mna. Genny Tolleson,

The kindness of your lantern was greatly appresiated, for I am often romeing at night or up before sunwake, and it is very confenient for I have never had a lantern before and shoult think what a fine and thoughtful gift it was to me to be fount THERE

Also during our previous interactions I was very agitated and think that perhaps I gave you an impression of beligerance that was not entirely welcome, I think that you ARE very sweet to Mister Catch with a pie and I shoult apologize for my forwardness.

attached is a notice from my proctor that I might think you woult be greatly interested in, i woult like for you to send him an ANSWERS as soon as possible, his words are dour and striking for he is under great diress at the time being, but is a fair and honest fellow and think that for one of nutral political orientation it woult be a great oppertunity to Inquire more as that is not your nature, yes? there is not a more suitable candodate THAT MIGHT BE FOUND, I think he may be suffering a great and doleful shock per the recent adjustmint of his trustworthy companion the Lady Marshall and might need one of firm mind to assist him IN DARKENHOLD.

please ignore his talk of small doses of personality, my suggestion of you is not an indication that I belief this to be your case, FOR all other qualifications you are a good example of, and you are one of THE people who is very INQUIRING.

yours sincerely, in that we may talk soon,

- Gloria Wynsee

Just because Glenn Burnie was gone, did not mean his assistant was free to seek new employment. For Genny, it meant quite the opposite. Now, more than ever before, Glenn actually needed assistance! Still, Gloria was trying to be sweet and that counted for something.

Dear Miss Gloria Wynsee,

It brings me joy to hear you have found use and enjoy the lantern. It is a small token of appreciation from me to you that you might be good to Catch and keep him, as best you can, from harm.

As for apologies, I will hear nothing. You are right to be suspect of persons with whom you are not entirely familiar. Forwardness is a quality I appreciate, though you might exercise it with a bit more caution – being quick to accuse or attack will only injure your cause.

That you recommend me this missive is flattering, though I am afraid I must disappoint you. I will inquire in that I might assist in some way, however, my allegiance is to the Inquistory. It is there that I feel my time is best spent at this juncture.

Sincerely and may the Gods be good to you,
Genevieve Tolleson

Her time was best spent under Giuseppe, in the Inquistory, or at least having the resources allotted to her as an Inquistor. As for her comments about Gloria’s forwardness, Genny hadn’t been in the stable that afternoon, nor had she witnessed Gloria’s manifested frustration upon Elliot. Still, word got around and even without penning the example outright there were surely several such occasions that could be used as evidence.

A second note was composed, one after the other, saying little of interest in applying or declining the position. In fact, it said very little at all, before being sealed and sent.

To Ser Sylvius Duquesne of Darkenhold,

I apologize that this letter might find you over-occupied with present matters. Miss Gloria Wynsee bade me to speak with you regarding a recent call you made for an assistant at Darkenhold. It is my hope to properly introduce myself and speak further in person, unless it is inconvenient I will anticipate visiting before the week is out. Please advise if there is a time better suited to your schedule.

Sincerely and may the Gods be good to you,
Genevieve Tolleson

Conveniently, she did forget to use the Inqusitory’s parchment, seal, or even sign her name with the appropriate title. Best they meet first as friends, even if Gloria seemed to trust the man.

Two notes had arrived separately. Two notes of response are penned and delivered accordingly.

Mister Otto Kaczmarek,

Thank you for your sincere inquiry, ser. I would meet with you in person to evaluate your potential for the aforementioned position. As I may soon be in the vicinity of the Calomel property, and with your agreement, I would be pleased to become acquainted with you there and to discuss the possibility of your employment.

With regards,
S. Duquesne

Miss Genevieve Tolleson,

It is surely the duty of Life to present its patrons with trials, lest apathy root itself too deeply in finer times. Still, your expressed sympathy is appreciated. You are welcome to visit Darkenhold at an hour of your choosing, though mid-day may be preferable as all flee indoors with the onset of rising temperatures and I will surely be among that lot. A member of staff will be available to escort you into my company.

With regards,
S. Duquesne
