On the search...

The soldiers were out in force, it would seem. Or, at least, as much in force as four hundred and so men could be in a town such as this. Adding their general strength to the numbers of the men and women of Straka. Crimson and alabaster of Thessilane clashed with the shades of the Order of Straka, navy blue and silver. As good of a mix as was possible, a good number of the officers figured. At least both worked to help maintain the illusion of safety. The forces of darkness could strike at any-time, any-where. And they would be hard pressed to contain it right out. The Light -would- prevail, though. That was the only way it could be, especailly when asking a particular sword-wielding noble.

In any case, the men went on their patrols, hands on swords and lances as they did so. Who knew when the terrible undead-scourge would rise up and try to flail their hands at the living? But they had a dual purpose, as well. Particular one's of them, those who wore the traditional crimson of Burel's soldiery, but with an added touch of black. Their task was, perhaps, hidden from the normal light of things. Though a man smart enough would have guessed at it. Especially since the Duke, himself, elected to wear the same colours at this present time. They were ment to be his eyes and ears in the persecution of the hunt of that devil-spawned Drow, Audmathus.

And perhaps this was the reason that their search, at least this particular one, was blunted. They were fearsome in their dark colouration. Golden thread upon tunics brilliant against ancient blood-hued cloth. Black breeches and under-shirts. Armour worn underneath those colours, for many of them. They were, dispite the reasoning for the change of dress, proud to serve in this capacity. Yet... their search for the one eyed woman. Quincy. The warrior with the heavy hammer. It had been contained. She was hiding well, perhaps, or the men and women were simply looking in the wrong location...

One should always be drunk. That's all that matters... But with what? With wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you chose. But get drunk. - Charles Baudelaire
