From the record books of the duty officer of the night.

Kazmarek returned last night bringing news of an interesting altercation. It seems she asked a man named Michael Wren about his involvement with the cult murders of last year, and he within hearing of Kazmarek and another witness whom she said will sign an affidavit to the subject admitted to guilt viz. all of them, whether directly his hand or under his responsibility. Kazmarek decided to see if she could bring him down to Gaol for questioning in the matter and he seemed at that point willing to come.

It was at that point that citizens Ariane Carnath-Emory, Quincy Randall, and an unnamed stranger, confronted Kazmarek and would not let her take this Michael Wren. At that point, she said that "it all went cross-eyed" and that she did not fancy her chances alone against the three, and that Wren escaped into the custody of Carnath-Emory, Randall, and the stranger.

I asked Kazmarek how she knew about the cult murders or what exactly she means by "cross-eyed" and she was very evasive and did not give me a straight answer. She did, however, say she'd have nothing to do with this matter in the future.
