Replies, of course:
Marshal Emory,
What a delight it was to see that you have risen so high in the world! I am not sure we had a proper conversation when I last lived in Myrken, but I do remember you and your sister, and your attic at the Dagger, and I am always so happy when a woman of talent gains stature in a world that is so often dominated by the so-called "stronger sex." If there is anything my humble business can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.
At any rate, I would be very glad to assist you. Your order is quite large, and I will need to bring in some extra tailors and seamstresses to handle the load, so there will be a small surcharge for their feeding and housing. If you could send new information on sizing for your men, that would be much appreciated (are most middle-sized, or do some have pot-bellies, or are all of them skinny sorts?) Regarding the material, would you prefer something heavier for the winter, or lighter for summer maneuvers? We can also create coats of the sort that would be acceptable for outdoor patrols in the colder months. I will have sketches back out to you in a day or two.
Please send your boys into my shop sometime this week. I am here most of the time; if they cannot find me, just knock on the door to the house on the left, where I am renting rooms. I am sure that they will not only feel comfortable, but proud as well, and that they will do you much honor.
I look forward to our future partnership; please do stop by at any point. I would love to meet you in person.
Sincerely,
Mme. Channtelas Atrahasis, coutourier.
And to Gloria:
Miss Wynsee,
Your proposal sounds quite acceptable. See you tomorrow.
(And it is "couture.")
Sincerely,
Mme. Atrahasis
