Above the 'Truth'

Above the 'Truth'

Sweet sandalwood and bergamot scented the dark air of the Governor's private chambers. Twin oil lamps burned on either side of the shallow bowl which contained the glowing charcoal and burning herbs.

The room itself was very dark, and very quite, as it had been since Ariane had moved her things back to the tavern. It was a bit of a sore spot, but nothing he wished to argue with her about. She was her own woman and would do as she wished.

Soft silk sweeps the floor as the thin creature wanders back and forth behind the desk. Fingers poised beneath his chin in thought.

"So now they have what they believed they wanted. The people have spoken, and I am once more returned to this seat of power."

A pause as he waves at the smoke rising up from the censor dispersing the scent around the room. This proves soothing, pleasing to him, and a small smile lights his otherwise very somber features.

This has been a trying time for him, adjusting o this. Knowing that he is loved by some and hated by others. He had almost grown used to being...just another Myrkenite.

"Helstone is leaving us, and I have promised free elections once all the dust has settled. The question becomes...what now?"

Strange eyes fall to the chair across the desk from him, as a slender figure leans forward into the light of the lamps. The subtle scent of amber lifts to join the incense. Sleek midnight tresses frame ivory features, the oil lamps dancing in the reflective surface of pale grey eyes. A thin smile curls perfect lips, as he begins to speak...
