Happenings at the Library

It was early last month, the month of January, that the Library of Mudd saw the finishing of its repairs from the Ashfiend's attack, though the former librarian had been subject to irreparable harm that no time could ever repair. So for a short period after, while the structure itself was as good as new, the contents of the building were scattered, damaged, and otherwise disorganized. It stood like the creepy old building that it was at the end of Dyer Avenue in Myrkentown.

Now time has passed, and, indeed, someone has taken up the vacancy. The new librarian was diligent, and by this time the disarray was corrected. Books were repaired, recovered, and organized. None of this would help the unsettling atmosphere the Library held, however, as the woman who had charged herself with maintaining the building's contents was anything but warm, and rarely kept enough light for one even to read by. Not that this was a huge change from prior management: the old, cobwebbed candelabrum that hangs from a rusty hook was never lit before, and it remains so.
