Dusk was just beginning to take hold as two riders came upon the outskirts of the city. A large hulking figure could easily be seen riding a draft horse behind the smaller male, both making their way towards Myrkenwood itself.
"I don't like the feel of this town." Came the grumble of the hulking figure, who could be seen as a rather large half-ogre, warhammer slung on a capable shoulder. The other figure, a short male in comparison to his huge companion, turned his mount sideways to view the ot her, elven ears obvious now as the light from the city caught his silhouette.
"James, you worry too much. Besides, do you really think I would pass up a chance like this?" The elven male smirked, canines showing as long black hair fell in his eyes, and about his goatee. Oddly enough, the rest was pulled back in a touseled ponytail that was clipped at the nape of his neck. "Too much fun and laughter involved in the least." The elf turned his horse again, heading towards the city once more.
"Yeah..fun...till one of these days a sheriff is going to have a rope around our necks. Pretty hard to laugh hanging there once it happens Meric." James grumbled, pushing his horse to follow.
Meric Lashtail smirked, glancing back only once to his companion. It had been so long since he had heard of the great things that could happen north of where he usually staked his territory. In the least, it would seem worth the long travel in the snow, and being chased by the local town sheriff of at least four little towns.
The pair pulled their animals towards the local inn, Lashtail easily getting the pair a couple of rooms overlooking the city itself.
Settling in, he remained at his windowsill, overlooking towards the barracks as the knock on the door came in.
"Enter."
James stepped in, leaning up against the wall as he looked to his friends. "Only a couple of days..sure you can front it..?"
A smile touched the devilish elf's lips, teeth curled into a grin about the pipe he smoked. "Aye. This should be as easy as falling off a log when I was a child. Get some rest, we have a big day this coming fortnight in preperation for the weekend."
