The New Arrival - The Broken Soldier

Postby Dallamar » Tue Apr 22, 2003 8:48 pm

A battered and bruised half-elf has arrived in the tavern. Once a Lieutenant of the Elven nation's Syrain special forces, his unit was ambushed and practically wiped out by a collection of undead inhabiting a small settling. A group of 10 soldiers are currently all that is left of his once 100 warriors and mages. They have taken shelter at the Broken_Dagger Hospital and are currenlty gathering their strength. Sealon traveled on to the tavern to gather information and try to find help.

The Surprised Doctor

Postby Rattrap » Wed Apr 23, 2003 3:32 am

Nobody was as surprised as Dr. David D'Rael when the leftover force arrived at the Rememdium Edificium. Ten men strong. Guh. They only had three rooms! Three beds! The doctor scrambled about, picking up pieces of his contigency plan. Oh, he did have a plan for such an emergency. At least he could povide more beds.

So in a matter of less than one half an hour, three more beds would be set up within each of the back rooms, providing at least six places to sleep. Still, the doctor had more to do. Obviously, there were ten, and only six had places to sleep. This would be...interesting.

There were chairs of course, in the front foyer. Plenty of those, so there were places to relax, at least. If one could call sitting in such a chair relaxing. Some have argued it was better than standing up, at least. A few of those were tossed into the backrooms with the beds, the latter three which were simply at ground level. Can't complain, considering the time frame poor David had to set them up. Just as comfortable, of course, but they lacked the height the doctor needed to work on patients. Of course, these were just resting. Thank goodness, too.

Ah, and he was about to leave on his trip, too. He'd have to talk to Aeri about that. And find a companion....maybe he wasn't quite ready to go on his trip after all. Oh well - whatever the case, this special forces detachment would have to be well and gone before the doctor made any plans. He only prayed they wouldn't hang around the building all day; the wounded needed more help than the tired.

Soldiers, one would say? Captain Alexander Kanashia, of the Myrken Wood guard, understood the little room available inside the Remedium, and thusly immediately sent word to the good Doctor and to the Elven lieutenant saying that those who have had their injuries treated could stay with the Guard at the barracks; where food and beds were available.
I refuse to believe this is as good as it gets.

Relief

Postby Rattrap » Wed Apr 23, 2003 12:28 pm

The Doctor was happy to hear from Captain Kanashia on the subject of the force's lodgings. It was a relief, to say the least; the men would have places to sleep, and the wounded wouldn't have to deal with a bunch of armed 'soldiers' standing about them while David D'Rael did whatever he had to to make the wounded not.

Whether the elven lieutenant arrived to tell his men of better lodgings before the doctor got his letter or not, David would make sure to let the detachment know that there was a better place available for them. Of course, his demeanor throughout this would not be of annoyance. Nor would he boot the soldiers out.

But the offer was quite nice, and much more convenient to all parties considered.
