"It good that you had friends. I should have thought of that really." She said with a nod of her head, her green eyes widening a little when he mentioned using a dead pig. That wasn't exactly what she expected for something to learn on, but she wasn't precisely squeamish either.

"Oh.. oh I hadn't realized that's how you learn about those things. I suppose it makes sense though, it'd be safer than practicing on a human. I'm not sure really who the cheapest butcher would be, but I imagine it'll be easy enough for you to figure out." She'd stand there just in the threshold of his door, watching the books that he was looking over. "I wouldn't take a day off anyhow. There isn't much else I'd rather do. I'm happy here."

"How do you know there's nothing else you want to do, if you never give yourself time to do it?" Lucas skimmed through a few more books until he found the one he was after. He pulled it off the shelf and flipped it over in his hand as he looked down at the title. Had to double check it. Then he'd come back over to her and old it out towards her. "Maybe you secretly like to swing from trees." A wiggle of the book.

Her reaction the pig earned a small, understanding smile. "Some researcher somewhere decided they're the animal most like humans. So they're good to practice suturing and moving arteries and veins around on. Things like that. Before I start letting you perform surgeries, of course." It was a strange thing for him to consider when he first heard it, but he had to admit it was much easier and less stressful to practice on a dead pig before a belligerent patient.

"I'm not much of a teacher, I'll warn you. So just start going over the anatomy in here, focus on the circulatory system. Helping me close off and control bleeding is a great place to start."

"I've tried other things, I didn't like them as well." She clarified for him as she looked back over at the doctor. "I can promise you that I don't secretly like swinging in trees. I might not have spent time trying that theory out, but I can feel relatively certain of it." She smiled slightly at that, though she didn't expand any further on what other things she might have tried.

"That's interesting about the pig." She added as she took the books from him, cracking open the cover a bit to take a peek at what was inside. "It must have taken alot of work for people to have figured that out. I suppose it makes sense though, that people would have studied animals for similarities." She'd take the book and wrap her arms about it against her chest.

"I think I'll be going home then and maybe start writing, unless you're in need of anything else?"

"You never know until you try..." He paused a moment in thought before letting the book be handed off. "In fact, I think I might go try it myself. Tomorrow, I'm tired now and I'll be invading one of the empty treatment rooms if you need me."

He only shrugged for the comment about the pigs, honestly he hadn't the patience for figuring that sort of thing out, but he was glad someone had bothered. Lucas stepped back out of his office, grabbing his hat and doffing it before nodding to her. "First, I'll escort you home so my mother doesn't kill me later for not doing it. Besides, with all the stories you keep feeding me about Myrken, I wouldn't feel right about letting anyone wander off alone..."

"I heard some sort of animal attacked some tea shop in town." His voice had dropped a bit low into a conspiratorial tone.

"My home is barely across the yard." She insisted when he offered to walk her home, but when he made mention of animals attacking people then she gave in, nodding her head slightly at the offer. "Of course, I'd appreciate the escort, I'm certainly not prepared to defend myself against some creature of the night."

She'd start heading towards the doorway with him, considering something he said about the attacks. "Do let me know if you need me though. If there has been an animal attack there will likely be people injured. If you need a messenger Barbara's little boy is always running about here somewhere and he's happy to go and fetch someone for a small bit of coin, although I do hope there isn't anyone coming in tonight, I'm sure you could use the rest."

"Well I don't promise to be prepared for an animal attack either. But I'll make a tasty distraction as you run for the nearest building." He grinned, seeming quite pleased with his theory, and headed for the door of the Rememdium. "I'm putting up a do not disturb sign out front once you're gone. We'll see if it works. And I'll keep an eye out for the kid. He could wind up being the next me."

He paused, frowned a minute, and then finally just shook his head with a sigh. "Poor boy doesn't know what he's got coming to him. My sympathies go out to him." A flick of a finger against the brim of his hat and then he'd offer her an arm and held the door open. "I'll see you home and come back to get some rest before someone else decides to hurt themselves."

"Most of Myrken can't read" She pointed out in jest when he made his comment about the do not disturb sign. He'd speak about the boy and the trouble that he was into if he ended up becoming the next doctor and Janessa would set about collecting her things, coming up to rest her hand easily on the doctor's arm as they'd head out for the door.

"One can always have hope anyhow." Whether she meant that in reference to no injuries coming from the animal attack or for the hope that the do not disturb sign would work was up to interpretation. "Thank you for the walk home, it's very kindly of you." And with that she'd nod, indicating that she was ready to go and the pair of them would head out of the Rememdium together.
