They hadn't burned her yet. They hadn't burned her or buried her or done anything else indicating a funeral had been performed. In fact she was laying, naked, upon the cold marble table when she awoke confused and disoriented. Her eyes popped open as they had done many mornings before this, though not for the last few weeks, and she sat upright and looked around with concern. She remembered this place, she'd been here before when last she was injured. Her arm... No it wouldn't do to dwell on that only...She frowned. The last thing she remembered was the feeling of blood flowing down from her throat to cover her chest, the inability to speak and then a sharp pain in her chest. A hand went to both places to find unmarred, smooth skin where the remembered injuries had been.
She was naked, in the Rememdium but in a room she had never been in before. It was cold, stark. Her shield and sword and badge of office were laid out on a table beside her as if funeral goods but she wasn't dead. She needed answers, needed to find out what had happened, who had brought her here, who had...well they must have found someone in time to heal her injuries, that was the only explanation. But then...why had they left her here, alone and unclothed. She scanned the room but could not find her clothing, or any for that matter and she grunted with annoyance. Well there appeared to be only one way to get answers to her questions and it wasn't by sitting here.
She stood from the table, bare feet landing lightly upon a floor as equally cold as the table she'd just left and reached for her things. Shield was strapped across her back, sword was strapped to her hip and the badge she just held in her hands, no pockets to place it in or fabric to pin it to.
She would find answers. Her mind was still a muddled confusion, a similar feeling once experiences upon waking up, especially waking up in a place one didn't remember being. The tavern. That was the last place she remembered being and so it would be the first she would go, but she needed to get out of here to get there and so out the door and into the hallway to search for the exit to this place.
