Hey there, follow roleplayers!
The Ops team, in cooperation with your friendly neighborhood Stormtrooper, has worked the last couple days or so on a few things that we thought everyone would enjoy.
First and foremost:
the return of the stats page!
This is a temporary page mainly designed to display the color scheme of the statistics, along with various tracking points -- i.e., which character says the color "red" the most; which character is most violent; which person wrote the most lines that day; and so on. We'd like your suggestions on what you'd like to see in terms of "who said/did the most" or "most (whatever) character in the Dagger," etc. This is a highly customizable feature of the statistics program/page, so comment here and let us know! Also, just so everyone knows, the program is
not up and running yet, but it will be soon. Which brings me to the next point...
... the StatsBot! That's right, the Broken Dagger has a bot again. It isn't as intrusive or interactive as Pritchard was, but that's the point -- it isn't meant to be. StatsBot's primary function is to provide everyone with information upon request. What sort of information, you may ask? I'll tell you!
Recently the Ops team has noticed and/or received a number of complaints from players about a great deal of activity occurring in Dagger-related side channels. Understandably, they were tired of missing what was undoubtedly interesting, engaging roleplay, as well as a possible chance to participate in that roleplay. So we put our heads together and came up with the idea of StatsBot: the bot that's linked to all five BD-related channels -- #Broken_Dagger, #BD_Myrkentown, #BD_Barracks, #BD_Hospital, and #BD_Meetinghouse -- and upon request lets a player know if there is any activity occurring in the channels, as well as how long ago the last post was. How do you request that information? Easy! Just query StatsBot with "!RP" and he'll tell you. (Don't include the quotation marks in your query!) Until someone posts in those channels, however, you may receive a somewhat wonky response that you may disregard.
How does StatsBot relate to the statistics page? Well, the function isn't incorporated yet, but we're planning to merge a stats-tracking program with the bot that will automatically upload to and update the stats page, without requiring any effort on our part. It's that simple.
Alrighty! Next order of business: the drow plot! Specifically,
Drow Me the Way! We'd like the players to add whatever information they may have about the plot to that wiki entry, because a lot of people are interested in it but have no idea of who's involved, what's already happened, and
why it happened.
Current events related to every plot can be tracked
here, which is another player-updated page.
Well, that's it! We'll let you know when StatsBot is actively tracking activity for the stats page, and we hope to hear your suggestions for the page as well. Thanks for your time and support, everyone!
