For those of you who don't know, I keep in fairly close contact with jinxi, the most wonderful (and dangerously attractive) Net Founder of StarChat.
She has advised us that they are working on implementing a new, more in-depth encoding of passwords and personal identification for your nicknames. However, their logs need a new timestamp indicating your password. That means, in order to protect your nickname, StarChat strongly advises that you change your password for each of your nicknames.
You do that with the following command:
/ns set password _______
And put the new password in the blank.
Plus, changing your passwords regularly is just a good policy. It will help keep hackers and the like from stealing your nicknames or taking over your registered channels...which CAN happen. Trust me...I know.
Thanks, everyone!
