Never let a day go by.

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes because I've let the date pass me by. I'm thankful that I decided to see if you were online, because without your reminder I probably would have blown through today and not paused to say Happy Birthday to you.
Since I've been gone, I've found so much else to fill the time that used to be spent talking to everybody, listening to problems, solving problems, causing problems... Days don't pass without thoughts of you in my mind, even when I don't put on the brakes of my life and come running here to say them. Birthdays are special days to me, ones when I honestly want to commemorate the people who I especially love and care for.
I hate to taint this wish with apology for not having stopped to think that today is June 2nd (and it belongs to you!) but, I'm going to: I'm so so sorry.
Mongrel,
You are a wonderful man who I never want to be too far away from. If my wishes should count, then my heart goes into asking for your birthday to be warm, loving and very special - that your time with your family turns out to be filled with peace and contentment and that sense of belonging and being loved that you so deserve to feel.
I wish you the arms of angels to hold you throughout every step of your future, no matter where you determine your feet to go. You are part of my prayers and some of my heart. May that be with you wherever you go, as well.
I'm extremely proud of you for having become the man that you are. Your loyalty and constancy are admirable traits and only glimmers of the bright lights that shine about you. Your compassion, sense of justice, sense of humor and love continually remind me of how much sheer humanity lives inside of you. Sometimes I think "if only they could see", and I've said as much to other people who might not get the chance to know you. I'm only sorry they won't... because you are a sincere friend - an unbelievable human being. I love your soul.
Many blessings this day and for those in the future.
I love you,
Wendy

But, it's well deserved...
