Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Postby Rance » Fri May 12, 2006 5:10 pm

Do you all know what this Sunday is?

That's right -- it's Mother's Day!

I think it's important for us all to remember that, despite this fantasy world that we all help create, there are even heroes in the world that we all live in. Even though there aren't any drow or vampires to fight away in real life, there are a lot more dangerous things to overcome, and that's why Mother's Day is important!

We have lots of mothers who regularly play in our channel, people whom -- when they're not fighting off fantasy baddies! -- help raise children and instill values and morales in the generation of the future, and to these hard-working Moms (you guys know who you are!) .. THANK YOU! You're a brave bunch, and the Broken Dagger salutes you!

If it weren't for people like you, the future would be a dour one indeed!

The other people who *aren't* Moms (and to those who are, even!), make sure you remind your mothers that you love them! They've brought a bunch of absolutely wonderful people into this world, and if it's within your power, make sure they know that too. :) And if, for whatever reason, you can't get in contact with her, make sure you silently thank her giving you the life you have!

So, Mothers, Moms, Mommies, Mums, and Mummers all -- We hope this coming Sunday treats you well, as does every other day of the year!

And for God's sake, women, live it up! Make those kids do the dishes for once! And even when those scraggly little rugrats pout at you, just remember that they love you just as much as you love them, no matter *how* much they grumble!

That is all.

Mother's Day. Good stuff. Gotta remember to grab Mama a card tomorrow. Meanwhile, I've already paid her back for her getting herself a Bonsai tree from Big Lots from me to her. Wheeeeee. :)

Rance, sometimes it amazes me that posts like this can come out of the same fingers as 'Tea, in the name of Myrken.' :)

At any rate: agreement! Practical jokes -- er -- presents! Presents! for moms everywhere! :)

Rance, you old softie you!

I want to thank you for recognizing the importance of being responsible for the little lives that will one day run this country, and if we are lucky, take over the mantle for us here.

My kids are older now, and do not require a lot of mothering anymore, but day in and day out they remind me of how precious a gift being a mother is. I think mother's day is important to us moms mostly because it reminds us how lucky we are. That, and it reminds us just how strong *our* mothers are!

I bought my mom a card this year. Normally she insists that I do not, since we are usually on a very tight budget. I *had* to buy this card.

-Outside- We have a teddy bear looking innocent. It reads "MOm, I know I was pretty difficult growing up, but look how I turned out!"

-Inside- THe teddy bear is holding a real square of tissue, which pops out at mom. It reads "Those are tears of joy, right? Mom? Mom?!"

Considering the kid of kid *I* was...perfect. :)

So, thanks, Rance. You often amaze me at just how sweet you can be. And to all the other mothers here....HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Take a break! You Deserve it!

Wrong, in all the right ways
