Goodbye, so long, farewell....

Goodbye, so long, farewell....

As I have made my decision to no long log onto Starchat and the decision by the ops and the other players not to move to another server... It appears that Broken Dagger and I will have to part ways, unfortunately.

I do not make the decision out of malice for the channel and her players and ops, but rather out of outrage and protest of the server and the administator that channel inhabits.

It brings me profound sadness and regret that it has come down to this... But... I cannot log onto that server with good conscience and pretend what happened didn't occur.

As to what to do with my active character in the channel... I will perhaps make a IC post in a few days to explain his absence and departure from Myrkenwood.

This is something that is incredibly hard for me to do. Some people might care, others might not give a damn. Though, this is something I've got to do as a person and a man. Believe me, this in no way represents my feelings about any one in Broken Dagger the channel or her ops.

Though, with that all said. I hope the best for all of you and God bless.

In all the years I've known you, Bill, we have agreed on... well, hardly anything. *grins* And that has lessened my respect and regard for you not one ounce. Neither does this.

I understand your reasoning -- and I wish you nothing but the very best. Take good care, man.

This is, in my opinion, a rather futile gesture that does nothing but separate you from a roleplaying community that obviously values you far more than Starchat itself ever did.

But to each their own.

Fine Man

It is a shame the Dagger will lose such a fine player. I hope we can remain friends and perhaps play another time in another place. But until then Billables, please take care. You'll be sorely missed by the many that love you here.

I remember a quote very distinctly, word-for-word, though I honestly can't remember where the hell I heard it.

A man who stands up for what he believes in stands against the world even while he carries it on his shoulders.

I know it sounds corny, but I think it's an accurate credo for those who do what they believe is the right course of action. I think it was from a movie or something.

Or probably Kung Fu.

Bill, I've had a great time playing with you, and I honestly look forward to having a great time doing it in the future, too. Thanks for being honest and straight, and thanks for being every ounce of a person just following what they know is the right choice for them and their friends.

Later, man!

(P.S. - My girl ain't giving Bishop's ring back any time soon, either!)

Bill,
I'm sorry to see you go. I had tremendous fun with our D&D sessions (as well as all the fun play with Bishop, of course!), and even though I sort of fell off for a while while moving/getting virused (which more or less ended those), I was still looking forward to more (of both).

Where ever you go, I hope you can find other folk to maybe call 'family'.
