Not. Happy.

My doctor suspects that I am developing carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands, and I am currently undergoing tests and suchlike. As I make my living typing at a computer and must do so for the rest of my life if I progress on in my chosen career, this is huge. Also, it's affecting other parts of my life that are very important to me, like playing instruments.

Roleplaying is not completely out of the question, but if I am quieter now and play a little less, it is because I am working on managing the condition so I do not have to have surgery.

Heatha, we'll be talking.

I AM NOT HAPPY.

I feel your pain.

I work with computers, myself. Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to ignore the problem for long enough to let it progress. So, at least you're taking the right steps to remedy the issue.

Though, if you do end up needing the surgery, it's a fairly standard procedure these days and it actually does do some good. ;)

"Try to limit your typing," she said, and I was all, "LOLS, that's like cutting my arms off."

Sigh. Thanks for the wishes. Yeah, I'm getting braces after work & reconfiguring both of my offices (home & work) for maximum effect.

You could always try the voice recognition software.

For what it's worth, the surgery really helped and was not as painful as I was led to expect!

As weird as this might sound, and it may not help, but it's helped me.

As silly as it seems...I've had them for over 10 years.

And through that time of rping or working at jobs where I have to do endless typing, I've never had a problem with my wrists or any numbing related to carpal tunnel.

and the gel wrist rest on your mouse pad. feels weird but also helpful imo. .. actually, I think you told me about those things before a long time ago, Rob, and I got some, too.

OH YEAH. Those too. hahaha.

I forgot I have a gel wrist pad for my keyboard and a gel wrist pad for my mouse.

Don't use them at work though, and my wrists don't bother me. But surely they'll help.
