The Judiciary Council forms the legislative and executive heart of Myrken Wood's government, and is comprised of an appointed selection of local independent landowners, presided over by a Governor selected from among that number. In principle the Council governs on behalf of the Trae Kelsan Crown and is answerable to the King of Trae Kelsa, but in practice enjoys a considerable degree of autonomy in matters of government. While Myrken Wood lies at the heart of the Amasynian province, the granting of expanded powers for local government was found to be necessary due to the unique range of challenges that face those who would govern the territory.

Responsibilities
Members of the Council are expected to act in concert to manage the day-to-day affairs of Myrken Wood's government, to serve the public interest, to enact local legislation, and to see that law and order are maintained throughout the territory.

Meeting in session as the Judiciar and Grand Court of Myrken Wood, the Governor and Council oversee and deliver sentence on trials for serious crimes, and serve as a court of final arbitration for cases in which the ruling of the Petty Court has been challenged. The Grand Court also arbitrates on matters of land and property law and commercial disputes.
Ordinary public meetings of the Judiciary Council are advertised at least one week in advance, though emergency meetings may be convened at much shorter notice. While the Council's primary concern during meetings is to resolve matters of taxation, legislation, funding and response to any troubles assailing the territory, the council is also required to set aside time to hear proposals from the citizenry. Queries are answered and concerns addressed in scheduled order, and appropriate action decided upon. Such decisions are agreed upon through popular vote by all councilors present at the meeting.
While its primary concerns are for matters associated with taxation, properties and funding, the council will hear all proposals of its citizens. Queries will be answered in scheduled order at all public meetings, and concerns addressed. Judgements will be won by popular vote of all seated councilors.
In the event that the council is without decision, the Judiciar will determine the outcome of any number of public concerns.

The Council also functions as both judge and jury, in cases of lawlessness. Council-appointed barristers may represent any who fall under Myrken Wood jurisdiction, unless a person wishes to represent himself or herself. A trial for conviction may be necessary if all parties responsible for the mistreatment of justice do not concur.
Any person(s) responsible for the purposeful misuse or abuse of Myrken Wood law will be tried, without question, and potentially convicted by the Judiciar.

History:
Little to nothing is known concerning the history of the Wizard Graiden, up to and including his last name, as he never has seemed to give it. It is rumored that one afternoon he simply turned up on the front steps of the Broken Dagger, opening the door and entering as though entering this new life that lay before him. As with any mans appearance and near simultaneous insulting of important individuals, Graiden has stirred a small amount of rumor already in his time, becoming known as a cruel and harsh man, judging and mysterious, some sort of Arcane powers boiling shallowly beneath the surface.

Description:
Not being physically imposing to the least, Graiden stands a mere five feet two inches tall on a frame that would not, by appearances, stand against a harsh wind. On further examination it is noted that his features are sharp, clean cut and evidently inspired by the Elven race, a mark of his Halfbreed heritage left permanently set upon him.

His long fingers are often seen perched before his chest as he sits at rest within the Dagger, their tips touching together as small sparks of Arcana burn in the air surrounding them, subconscious conduits for the mana that he so commonly channeled through his person. In the same way do his eyes glow, sea green in color, but deep within them the spark of power and magical energies constantly circling and sparking in the pupil.

A pair of simple black leather boots covers his feet, their soles either not as hard as most, or simply thinner, they make no sound as he moves about, falling to the floor as though feathers. A pair of black cloth pants covers the remainder of his lower body, an unmistakable red stripe running vertically from heel to hip where they are met by a well cut silken red shirt, buttoned to the throat, collar well maintained and stiff to the sides of his neck. Above all he wears a 3/4 length leather overcoat, hanging to his knees, the buttons respectively an inch above and below his navel.
His hair is cut to the shoulder, brown locks cascading down in large curls, almost giving him an innocent look, though any who have thus far encountered the man will be well aware of the deception therein.

Explanation
Unlike the province's Councilors, Myrken Wood's Governor is elected not by popular vote, but by ballot taken amongst all current members of the Judiciary Council. His position is a complicated one: as the Council's fifth member, his is the deciding vote -- but he possesses the power of veto in any case; on some occasions, he is obliged not only to moderate during Council meetings, but to dictate their outcomes. Furthermore, his secondary role is that of Judiciar, and requires that he lead the Council in both the judgement of criminal cases, and the assignment of sentences to the same.

It may come as no surprise, then, that election to the position of Governor is commonly considered a death-sentence for the man unfortunate enough to suffer it.

Dark sharp-crisp intelligent eyes that are highlighted by dishwater blonde hair. Angular features, and thin frame. Of average height, but not average expression. His expressions tend to vary from cheerfulness to slight stoicism depending on the day, the hour, and the company. Dressed in amber tunic and brown linen pants - with calf-high riding boots. A leather satchel resting on one hip - and a dagger sitting on the other. Cultured mamnerisms aside, he's a relatively nice young man - appearing to be somewhere in his early twenties.

The Master Chef
During his formative years - he learned a great deal many *things* in the culinary arts. Mainly due to the fact he worked in the kitchens at the collegia where he studied to help pay for some of the schooling, training, and books that his family could not afford otherwise. This led to his rise of station - because his *talent* for the ars incontantlle was only surpassed by his ars culinary. And the fact he combined the two led him to be the premiere staff-cheff at his collegia. This earned him a reputation and some small earnings that he invested money into a pub in Razasan - and with his exotic foods - it became a surefire hit - and he gained much reputation for his family, and much needed coin. At present, he works at the Broken Dagger - having moved there - and serves as a cook and a bartender at certain times.

The Incontantlle
Aha, this is where Zalin gets interesting. He studed at the collegia ve Incontantlle from age 6 to age 18 - and graduated top class in his studies. However, due to his trainings - he was accepted as a Ricontant at age 19, and for the last few years has been one of the few actually *living* in Razasan. Now, what exactly is an Incontantlle and a Ricontant?

Simple explinations!

In Razasan, magicians, magic-users, wizards are called Amerella. However, they have their own special brand of magic-using that they call world-friendly, considering that they borrow power from the world - then give it right back after they're done using it.

Now, when an Amerella learns as much of the basics as they can, they pick a speciality to study. And Incontantlle is one such specialist. One who specializes in elemental effects. Now, do not think they are Elementalists. Because, Elementalists by nature are usually regarded as specializing in one singular Element alone.

This is not the case for Incontantlle. They use the elements and combine them together to create effects. The more powerful the Incontantlle the more elements that can mix simultaneously. However, don't call an Incontantlle a "Wizard" or a "Mage" to their face. They take it as a dire insult, in some cases.

The Ricontant
The Ricontant is an Incontantlle that specializes in mixing different elements together to create dual effects, or create dual entities that harness the other for the effect. Also known as the Twin Elements, they're use of elements together is renown. They can make one element seem like another, or completely comingle elements into some odd half-element. They are not ones to be taken lightly and their spells are oddly flashy and just as deadly. Also, the Ricontant specializes in controlling base elements more then their less developed Incontantlle origins.

An example of this would be where a Ricontant first takes flame - and then uses air and water to take all the "heat" away from the flame itself. In doing so, the flame turns a dark blue - and actually burns by freezing - rather then by heat itself. Hence, the term frozen flames appeared in Ricontant history when Zyslivi Malvross first invented the effect and introduced it to the Ricontants, themselves.

Another example would be the combination of air and water - where compression of water by means of air - allows it to have a form, and it shot out like twin fangs that spiral together. The air moves the water, and the water in turn gives weight to the air. Combining both for a direct assault. This was invented by Captain Alvori Mendral, who was in the Amerella Corps in Razasan. It does considerable blunt trauma - without doing damage to the surroundings.

The Personality
Zalin, by far is a cultured minor noble, whom is very civil, respectful, and polite - when afforded the same. However, he is kind - but he can also be very blunt, tactless, and indignant - if the mood strikes. And usually, it's after an insult. He's very family oriented, as far as *his* family is concerned and very proud of his accomplishments - that he worked *so* hard to attain.

Cheerful, expressive, and talkative - sometimes he can be stoic, or stern. All in all, Zalin's a Savoy - all right.

The Present
At present, he is a cook at the Broken Dagger - having been spurred to apply by Reilly Thomas, the gardener. And, having taken her advice - he's now on staff, paid little, but enjoying himself readily. Also, it affords him ease of watching out for his little brother, Alastir.

Entrees So Far
As a fun list, these are the entrees Zalin's introduced thus far: Feel free to order them, if he's on duty! Or just, for fun otherwise!

* Savory pork cutlets in pear sauce, with steamed vegetables.
* Red-currant tarts with half-froze creme sauce.
* Thick flaky pastry with raspberry sauce.
* Various pastas, of different sorts.

Some people take immediately to Myrken Wood's atmosphere of danger, demons, and disagreements. Glenn Burnie, mapmaker and little else, is not one of them.

Appearance
There's not particularly much to Glenn. He is perfectly forgettable to look at, a fact that has allowed for his survival more than once. His height is just shorter than average, his weight just lighter. Black hair sits upon his head almost always managing to be both short and unkempt, a feat unto itself. He looks somewhere between twenty and twenty-three years old, and if asked, he might reply, after a pause, that he was born just over twenty years ago. Despite that statement, most assuredly true, though carefully worded, there is a definite youthfulness to his movements and body language and yet a weathered look to be found by any looking into his grey eyes. There may be a reason for that. If one was to take a good look at his skin, at his body, one would find the hints of many small, randomly placed, scars and healed bones. As they are hidden under his clothes, no one has inquired about them so far.

Glenn dresses in a rather relaxed way, very pratical with little sense for fashion. He leans towards hearty fabrics yet ones of some quality, the latter possibly having something to do with his upbringing. He's generally dressed in a way that he could travel at any time, something that might make sense considering his profession and the amount of walking that goes along with it. At almost all times, he either carries with him the long, cyllindrical, ornate container for parchment in which he keeps his work or the sturdy walking stick made for him by Aloisius Treadwell. Ever since his work has picked up, Glenn has begun to carry around a pack instead of the container, somewhat surprising considering it was never off of his person until recently.

Currently, Glenn is slowly but surely starting to build muscle mass by working in the fields with the Shepherd Knights of the Silver Staff nominally in order to cover his room and board at their chapter house.

Doom could often be portended by thick, hobnailed boots resounding off the floorboards of the Broken Dagger. The boots of a former bouncer in service of the inn, as well as Gray Lancers in service of Thessilane.

Serving under Tempestro Starr and alongside a slew of other individuals, Ymir was a quiet individual who only spoke when there was something important to say. More often he spoke with action, or his crimson eyes.

Ymir was born in the desert kingdoms far to the south east. The product of an unnatural union of human and dwarf he was bred for a specific purpose, though only few know exactly what.

Arriving at the inn in solitude, Ymir befriended many regular patrons of the tavern. Tyreal and Iome, Tempestro Starr and Ariane Carnath-Emory, as well as the often troublesome janitor named Quincy. It was the latter individual who took up the majority of Ymir's time and actions. Acting as a mentor and protector to the young janitor his time was often spent either threatening, or nearly killing the young woman.

The majority of the half-dwarf's life was training, and it was easily apparent to anyone that he was not a social creature, nor interested in adhering to social norms or customs. However, it was during his time at the Broken Dagger that Ymir met an elf woman named Jynoriel. They bonded after some initial conflict.

During one particular trip from the wilderness back to the Dagger, they came upon an elven village being raided. Too late to save anyone, they dispatched the raiders and found among the wreckage a sole survivor. A small elven child with curly blonde hair was soon adopted by the two and given the name Estela.

Shortly thereafter Ymir departed voluntarily with agents from his home kingdom who wished him to return. Jynoriel too disappeared for reasons unknown to the half-dwarf, and the child, Estela, was placed in the care of Quincy.

Since that time rumors have abounded about sightings of a strange crimson eyed creature residing in a hospital in the capital of Derry. There are, however, other rumours of individuals of incredible stamina and strength, and stoic nature from all corners of the continent.

Where he will end up next is difficult to say...
It lasted for a few years, tabletop until the character was taken online. The character was played for many years in TSBT until the move was made to #Broken_Dagger with Carnath-Emory and was made permanent. Over time, the character's development has taken different turns - but it's at #Broken_Dagger that his true nature, and his storyline actually found a fitting place. And a fitting home.

History
Youth
Starr, or Deost as he's called now - was born in a remote country on an entirely different plane. Call it cross-worlding, or perhaps just it's on the other side of the country. Koazkura was the location. But, it was only because his Father and Mother had moved there to live with his uncle Taka Yoritomo. Deost remembers little of his childhood, much on purpose - as his parents, Tempestro Azan and Lilthira Sz'llthi weren't always the best people. His uncle, and his aunt, Alhanya Renyarr however - are the ones who raised him, with ihs other uncle, Corishar. However, these three are not blood relatives at all. They were part of an adventuring group that retired and still remained close. But, all in all, most of his childhood was spent between Alhanya Renyarr's home, and Taka Yoritomo's home.

The Twist
Tempestro Deost, is his brother's name. And his name is Tempestro Starr. However, their brotherhood is much of estrangement, and in all honesty - Starr himself, is actually a clone that the wizard Fable produced. The wizard, whom had been such a kind and gentle person, and his abrupt shift into madness and stern iron-hand, prompted the creation. Most of the memories of Starr, himself, were nothing more then copies of the original, Deost. Their childhood's were similar, but after that, they diverge wildly. The original, Tempestro Deost, served on a galleon ship, and other more nefarious things. Starr? He became a mercenary, because of a memory.

Note: Deost - the nickname is actually Starr. They traded places so that the original is running the province of Tempestia and so that Starr could travel, and do as he wished, since having found Tempestia he felt no need for the political entanglements. He figured, it was his reward for having found a permanent home for the Gray Lancers.

The Gray Lancers
His father, Tempestro Azan, was a master swordsman of great repute, honor, and diligence and served with some others in a adventuring group. However, he was a harsh man, and had little skill with raising children. And was rather hard on Starr, and demeaning to him. It was because of this, and his training with a blade - that in anger, and rebellion he joined a mercenary company - instead of doing the noble and honorable thing and joining an adventuring group to help the common man.

In a fall out with his father, he and Azan dueled - and Starr won. Then ran away and joined the Gray Lancers.

It's there, he met Lochlain Kohler, Carrow, Loryll, and Corishar his uncle. At a youthful age - they all became fast friends, and had many campaigns into different wars. And, most notably - when they emerged in Myrkenwood - and fought in the Thessilane-New Dauntless war, that they gained some reputation, and repute - and a country of their own - Tempestia.

The Present
After the Thessilane-New Dauntless war, the mercenary retired and handed over Tempestia to his brother, Tempestro Deost, and moved to Myrkenwood under his brother's assumed name. It's there, he's set up a manor house, Esraeux Estate, and has been teaching a few Myrken locals how to fight.
