Men with leathery flesh and beady eyes--hardly local one would see. They worked with such vigor that by midafternoon the rather elegant porch had been repaired in a rosy white color, decorated with flowers and had a small tea-style table and chairs set up at either side of the rather elegant green and gold door. From desks, tables, chairs, credenzas, vanity tables, mirrors. Each first floor room was done up in a sea of pastels and flower-based colors. The lobby itseld housed a large walk-in closet where coats and other apparel could be stored at the discretion of the maitre'd who presides over this portion of the house, before ladies or butlers lead them off to other parts of the house.
''To the left are four doors before the hallway ends and curls to the right. Each door is given a number, pressed into a small golden plaque hammered to the door. Behind each door with a number, there is a themed room. Some are oriental, some are western, some are arabian and some are just overly extravegant displays of rich fabric and refinery. Once you meet the hall's 'end' and go down the hall there is one door down that way, leading into a large room where a piano would sit along with a magnificent bed. A large mirror, closet and vanity dominate one wall. There were a pair of windows, draped in extraordinary cloth looking out the back of the house.''
== The Madame of the Painted Veil ==

Lady Caramelle's background is one deeply seated within mystery. She has never once spoken, even to her Ladies, of where it is she came from. She is no Myrken-local, hailing from far beyond where money seemed thick. Though she spoke nothing of her past, some have come up with a suitable story that seems to make more and more sense as time passes. Caramelle is a wealthy woman who garners a lot of attention from men. Men who have been reportedly helping her '''fund''' this small chain of Hostels that she has been erecting in some of the larger cities throughout the land. She has never been seen often with suitors, preferring to keep her affairs private and far from even the eyes of her Ladies.

Caramelle's entire background seems to orbit around a wealthy family, a pampered childhood and fingers dipped in a variety of avenues--from merchants to fishers. Though it's not at all clear what this is, many speculate that she might also come from an enormous family, almost like a clan, that looks after each other. Whatever her background, it's kept behind her closed doors and in locked diaries--of which she has many.

Lady Caramelle is a soft-spoken, doe-eyed debutanté with a flare for the pretty and popular. Her Ladies reflect her rich tastes, all sporting remarkable and wild beauty. She herself dresses in wonderful gowns and clothing that would put to shame flowers and fauna of all sorts of colors. There has been no point where her anger has gotten above a firm tone; none dare to push her that far--for fear of reprimand. Caramelle seems to be more than willing to host parties and get-togethers for Ladies. Her demeanor is both intoxicating as well as contagious--bringing smiles all around. There has been no need of suspicion of Caramelle, considering she has never once been convicted of doing anything unlawful.

== Employees Needed! ==

The Painted Veil will have its share of NPCs, surely. But I am opening the doors for employment for any and all interested in playing a PC that would be a part of this new addition to Myrken. (As positions are filled, names will be listed here under their proper job(s).)

''PC Positions need'';

'''The Ladies''' (I need 6-12 ladies. Some can be NPC'd of course, but the more playing--the better!)

'''Cleaning Staff'''(this is not a position that necessarily needs to be filled, though it would add depth.)

'''Maitre'd'''(this character is integral for meet and greet at the lobby)

'''Butler(s)'''(Staff dedicated to tending to the waiting mens needs prior to their rendevous with the Ladies)

== Purpose ==
The purpose of this Parlour and its associates is to bring entertainment to men (and women) looking for a bit of a party without going through the trouble of doing everything themselves. It's also for those lonely, single men that want to spend time with ''someone'' that will not look or seek out commitments. The Ladies are clean and well-mannered, displaying poise and elegance with everything they do.

As written by Lady Caramelle herself; ''Ladies set their own set of rules, these rules '''must''' be obeyed or you will find yourself forcefully removed and possibly banned from the premises.''

Some Ladies will seek extra benefits from the meetings, they are '''required''' to move to a private room where private business is to be taken care of.

''PRICES VARY ON WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE BEING COMMITTED. LADIES SET THE PRICES THEMSELVES, BUT ARE REQUIRED NOT TO SHOW TOO MUCH FAVORITISM.''

Regular customers will be given special treatment, though it is unsure as of yet what that will be.

All customers must abide by Common Sense rules as well as the rules of the Ladies.

Caramelle seems to be more than willing to host parties and get-togethers for Ladies. Her demeanor is both intoxicating as well as contagious--bringing smiles all around. There has been no need of suspicion of Caramelle, considering she has never once been convicted of doing anything unlawful.

== Employees Needed! ==

The Painted Veil will have its share of NPCs, surely. But I am opening the doors for employment for any and all interested in playing a PC that would be a part of this new addition to Myrken. (As positions are filled, names will be listed here under their proper job(s).)

''PC Positions need'';

'''The Ladies''' (I need 6-12 ladies. Some can be NPC'd of course, but the more playing--the better!)

'''Bodyguards'''(both for Caramelle and the Parlour)

'''Bartender(s)'''(There are two bars in the sitting/wait rooms)

'''Cleaning Staff'''(this is not a position that necessarily needs to be filled, though it would add depth.)

'''Maitre'd'''(this character is integral for meet and greet at the lobby)

'''Butler(s)'''(Staff dedicated to tending to the waiting mens needs prior to their rendevous with the Ladies)

== Purpose ==

There is no requirement to be sexual. In fact, it is not and '''should not''' be expected from the Ladies. As written by Lady Caramelle herself; ''Ladies set their own set of rules, these rules '''must''' be obeyed or you will find yourself forcefully removed and possibly banned from the premises.''

Some Ladies will seek sexual benefits from the meetings, they are '''required''' to move to a private room where private business is to be taken care of.

They worked with such vigor that by midafternoon the rather elegant porch had been repaired in a rosy white color, decorated with flowers and had a small tea-style table and chairs set up at either side of the rather elegant green and gold door. ''The men began in the lobby, dusting and cleaning every inch of the wood floor until it was so clean and smooth. From there, they began to move in furniture carefully hauled by the large caravans.

Each room had its function the two that branched off from the double staircase were sitting/waiting rooms.. furnished with long, plush couches, mood lighting and a bar where drinks and small hor'de'ourves were served. One room was done in blush, the other in a darker more pleasing array of colors. These rooms led forth into sitting rooms, where a large coffee table dominated a room with loveseats and chairs all about. One room even had a fireplace with an exotic fur rug to allow for some romance to blossom perhaps. It's partner room was of the same sort of settup, without the fireplace. Places where people can sit, chat over tea and mingle without too much trouble.''

''Beyond these humble seeming rooms there was a kitchen, decked out in everything possible. A small cold cellar provided ample storage for meats, cheeses and milks. Cupboards would be stocked with foodstuffs, utensils, dishes and a whole array of whatever would be required to serve and entertain guests. The kitchen was likely to house several working chefs and assistants. A door in the back of the kitchen led outside.. another door, which branched off from the room with no fireplace headed out into the patio.''
This particular piece of art showcases the Lady of the House, Caramelle, over a long desk topped with flowers to further accentuate the theme of the house. The hallway goes left and right..''

''To the right of the stairs, another similar hallway--with doors numbered. This hall, too, branches off to a single large room which is only given a piano and some seating arrangements. Caramelle is a wealthy woman who garners a lot of attention from men. The lobby itseld housed a large walk-in closet where coats and other apparel could be stored at the discretion of the maitre'd who presides over this portion of the house, before ladies or butlers lead them off to other parts of the house.
These rooms led forth into sitting rooms, where a large coffee table dominated a room with loveseats and chairs all about.

== Employees Needed! ==
The Painted Veil will have its share of NPCs, surely. But I am opening the doors for employment for any and all interested in playing a PC that would be a part of this new addition to Myrken.

''PC Positions need'';
'''The Ladies''' (I need 6-12 ladies. Some can be NPC'd of course, but the more playing--the better!)
Men with leathery flesh and beady eyes--hardly local one would see. They worked with such vigor that by midafternoon the rather elegant porch had been repaired in a rosy white color, decorated with flowers and had a small tea-style table and chairs set up at either side of the rather elegant green and gold door. A maroon carpet led from the first porch step's lip to the door--trimmed in gold embroidery.''

''The men continued to work, washing down the outside of the building--which was a rather nice pale peach in color. Some of the paint the men had matched enough to give it more character where spots had worn or blemished. The yard was repaired as well with a little help from an herbalist magician who used a pinch of florakinetic magick to repair the yard's splotchy and unappealing look. Roses lines the path leading up to the rather beautiful house, a small white picket fence hugged the perimeter of the properly, quickly occupying the spaces needed. More yardwork brought in stones to work the back yard, where a small tea party set was being placed a a rather beautiful patio arrangement. Arches of flowers from Roses to Morning Glories decorated the perimeter of this patio-like atmosphere.. creating a relaxing atmosphere almost immediately.''

''It seemed that most of the attention, for the time being, was working on the aesthetics of the outdoors--ensuring that no one would be particularly unhappy with the arrangements of flowers and other such extravagencies. And now that the outdoors was done, the sun slipping toward the horizon--the rather shady-seeming farmer's sons would continue on into the house itself to begin the preparations from within. There had been no arrival yet of the parties they were doing this for, however, making one wonder what the purpose was for all of this hard work!''

== The Interior ==

'''First Floor'''

''The men began in the lobby, dusting and cleaning every inch of the wood floor until it was so clean and smooth. From there, they began to move in furniture carefully hauled by the large caravans.

Some rooms, like those toward the back of the house, were done in elegant wine colors--from blush to luscious merlot.

'''Second Floor'''

''The second floor starts with the curled snake of the dual staircase, leading up to a open-faced hallway .. displaying art (which is also found on the walls on the first floor) as its centerpiece. This particular piece of art showcases the Lady of the House, Caramelle, over a long desk topped with flowers to further accentuate the theme of the house. The hallway goes left and right..''

''To the right of the stairs, another similar hallway--with doors numbered. This hall, too, branches off to a single large room which is only given a piano and some seating arrangements. Again, there was this comfortable air within the room Obviously this was another room to entertain guests in with music and chatter.''

==The Empire of Rainbows==

===The Empire===
''For nearly two hundred years, the Empire has remained hidden from the people of Trae Kelsa, strange incidents occured occasionally - involving unusual elvenfolk that seemed drawn to any dramatic event, curiously. Anything from political turmoil to bloodshed on field of battle. The constant factor is that none of them stepped forward to be known.

The Empire of Rainbows, despite the name, has a dark history. They've maintained secrecy for over two hundred years; or so says some historians who were fortunate enough to see the Empire that appears whenever a Rainbow is seen in the skies. The Empire is immense, but nothing like what spawns in the mind's eye when someone speaks of an Empire.

They are at least ten thousand or more strong, their population is culled, allowing for a more controlled environment. The Empire is led by a woman called the 'Princess of Rainbows'; a woman with the most power of all the elves - blessed by the Rainbow. She seems to be chosen at birth from an assortment chosen by her Handmaidens from the city itself. Once chosen, the others are sacrificed in her name.

The elves, gifted with no name, worship their Princess - who is rarely seen, if ever. This woman, whose existance is constantly questioned by outsiders, sits within a palace that seems carved from the mind of the orient. Tiered and elegant, with designs of an exotic sort, the building rises from the midst of the misty walled Empire. It was a symbol of their people and their time within this world.

===The Walled City===

The city is surrounded by a specially created wall, embued with magic that allows it to simply disappear from site. Because of the legends that have spawned, the Empire only appears when a Rainbow shines brilliantly in the sky. (Some say that this is where their name came from, but there is no real leads.)

The magic is just a widely spread invisibility pall, allowing for them to remain hidden for so long without too much interference in their daily lives. Those unfortunate few travelers that stumbled upon the Empire were taken in and never seen again. Many have been used in the gruesome rituals that the elves take on, the others that are spared are used to guard the Princess and her Handmaidens. Nevertheless, wary travelers have disappeared into the Empire's invisible hands.

Their rituals consist of mostly sacrifices to the Rainbow, but they are restricted to their criminals and the children that must die for the sake of the population being maintained and order kept. Those travelers that have been sacrificed were done so out of the sheer necessity of the elves; most travelers seek knowledge and artifacts that are not theirs - resulting in their criminal activities being punished.

===The Princess of Rainbows===

Anehleia is the Princess. She is accompanied by two women, Audred and Anest'ewyn. These are her most important Maidens, they handle all diplomatic affairs - including becoming ambassadors for the Princess when she has decided to make her presence known.

Audred, the leader of the Royal Handmaidens, has decided (with permissions of the Princess) to venture out with Anest'ewyn to Myrkenwood where they have had the priviledge to get information concerning what has been transpiring. Due to this, the Princess has sent those two (and only those two) on a mission of utmost importance to Myrkenwood.
