Before his sudden disappearance months after his initial arrival, his initiation into the Requiem Curae and inability to heal his branding clean from his flesh was observed by many night-time tavern-goers to be troublesome to him, from the absent-minded wring of his fingers of the ridges of the mark to his heavy-minded sighs accompanied by grinding his palm into his pant leg as though to rub it off.

After his disappearance, rumor emerged that his initiation into the clan had been under threat of force - or at least of no other option out. This rumor of reluctance and force was further evidenced by the "murder" of another clan member by Benith, feeding on him to death in a severely taboo, disrespectful, and unforgivable act; the rumor was also justified with eye-witness that Magdelena had been attracted to Benith, willing to force his hand into their clan until he could be seduced into staying. Of course, no other soul or soulless was permitted to witness the success or failure of this attempt. Regardless, after the inter-clan slaying, Benith fled.
The Macekebins are notorious among many peoples, namely elves and vampires, for hunting down elves across the world for the sport of rape torture and murder. Each member of the family wears the preserved left ears of their victims pierced on a metal hoop at their belt or a cross-sash atop their armor, proudly. Years have passed, and Benith has returned, perhaps hearing that the vampire plague upon the town had died down. Now, the lone vampire wears a total 7 hoops - over 200 elven ears... over 200 elven victims of unspeakable horrors, some lasting unimaginable hours, before their passing. == Topography ==
Thessilane is an authentic seaport territory within the Beradt coastal plain of the Amasynian peninsula of Trae Kelsa, characterized by a large fishing fleet and working waterfront, covering hundreds of square miles. Some of the region is difficult to travel due to steep, rock formed hills that occupy a good portion of its western and south central areas. However, the northern regions bordering New Dauntless are famed for their meadowland, as is the region to the west of the Red Hills and south of Lake Mist.

Location
Thessilane is located on the south coast of the Amasynian Province. Greater Thessilane is an area of superlatives -- the tastiest seafood, the best waterways, and the friendliest people. The quality of life is maintained by a variety of cultural, economic, geographic, and educational advantages. Thessilane is rich in heritage, opportunity, and history. The area is comprised of several small communities, some of which are dwarven, each of which adds its own distinct flavor.

Climate
The normal temperature in January is 30.6 degrees; in July, it's 73.5 degrees. In summer, during periods of high pressure, Thessilane residents can almost depend on the regular arrival of cooling southwesterly breezes that come ashore just after noon and abate in the early evening. This area receives an average of 47.3" rain per year. In winter, this territory experiences less snowfall on average because of the milder ocean water temperatures.

Travel and Trade Routes
One route that allows for east-west travel at the southern end of Myrken Wood called Derry Row is a 'safe road' for those going back and forth from the eastern sea coast all the way to Amasynia. Throughways that see travelers from Thessilane to New Dauntless are accessible once more, following the withdrawal of military personnel, at the cessation of hostilities from New Dauntless.

Public Service
Policing of the lands are taken up by the various Lords of the Land, each being required by the Ducal Government to maintain a professional militia to protect their populace. Townships of more than five hundred are required to have a Constabulary force to assist the Local Militia in times of need. A courier service, provided by the Duke, allows for the swift transport of news and mail up and down the length of the territory.

The armed forces of Thessilane are famed for their use of the Horse as it's main force of arms and transport. A historical mainstay of the country when they, according to verbal and some written history, had conquered a portion of the Amasynian Provincial Region for themselves, before falling to infighting.

Whatever the case, the army is drawn from both volunteers who wish to serve in the Army, or from levies drawn from the militia's of the local lords in time of need. They are formed into Legions, which can number as high as five thousand men when the need occurs. Legions are commanded by a Marshal, while multiple Legions are commanded by a Field Marshal. In the end, all command is directed from Duke Burel in Meadowford.

News
News is supplied via word of mouth and various publications throughout Thessilane and its boundaries.

Recently there has been a decree announcing Thessilane's break away from the Kingdom of Trae Kelsa, this news has come directly from the seat of the reigning Duke, Burel Gaius Tassnehof. It stems from what the Duke sees as the indifference from the royal throne, and their lack of interest in the Amasynia region.

Leisure Activities
Thessilane's coastline is alive with activity. Shipbuilders are in abundance and nested among the many coastal beaches, the largest of which is a nine mile strip called Orvere Beach. Orvere, a major seaport, is host to many businesses and recreational spots.

Located directly beneath the Lake Mist, at the Red Hills, is one of Thessilane's most populated areas. Within 24,000 acres of marshes and mud flats surrounding these uplands, fortress homes are contained.

Thessilane is home to a nearly 600 acre salt water lake. There are several beaches for access to this water. Bordering residents gave Lake Mist its name for its mystical morning fog that hovers over the water. Lore is that the fog's red hue is a reflection of the Hills beneath it.

Local Economy
As the industrial development of Thessilane absorbed a portion of New Dauntless's industry, the community has increased its worth in shipping and iron manufacturing.

Notable Citizens of Thessilane
* Burel Tassnehof, the Duke of Thessilane.
* Erebus Redclaw, the Thane of Meadowford.
** Ariane Emory, the Baroness of the Royal Court of Thessilane, seconded to the Titular Thane of Meadowford, Erebus Redclaw.
*The quiet town of Foggy Bottom has been struck by a sorcerous plague of madness lasting three full days and resulting in significant property damage and loss of life; assailed by nightmarish memories and visions, the townsfolk were robbed of their senses and turned upon each other and themselves in their anguish. This atrocity is believed to be the work of the reviled Teron Ashfiend, who remains at large after the recent assault upon his lair at the Priory of Snowstill. The ghoul's undead army was eventually defeated, though at considerable cost to the assaulting forces; despite the expedition's failure to slay the Ashfiend, the effort to rescue the kidnapped barmaid Teddi proved successful and the ghoul was driven from the Priory's ruins, leading the mission to be declared an overall victory. --majic13 09:57, 27 August 2007 (PDT)

Originally from the region of Almark in Thessilane, Captain Kerrak al'Nerun was the commander of the Brotherhood of Janeiro and former Councilor of Defence and Civil Security of Myrken Wood.

Since his apperance in Myrken, the former Councilor of Defence and Civil Security has gone through many changes. First appearing in the retinue of Burel Tassnehof, who is the current Duke of Thessilane as the captain of his personal bodyguard, the Companions. He has since portrayed himself as a number of things. Going from a man of the people, to a man reviled by the people. Oddly enough, despite the changes to his demeanor and status, he still sees himself as a champion of the people of Myrken...

History
Born in the year 167, into the House al`Nerun in Almark, Thessilane As second son, his lot, and wish, was to enter into service to the royal seat in Meadowford. Whilst his older brother Wheylan was chosen to inherit and was thusly entered into the proper schools for such service, the young Kerrak was instead trained in the arts of warcraft. Showing an adeptness that quickly outstripped the capabilities of his tutors in Almark he was soon sent to train under the watchful eyes of the Ducal War College, in Meadowford. And train he did, occasionally returning home to dabble in love and politics until he was deemed old enough to add his strength to the Loyalist forces during the Schism, a period of civil strife within the Duchy.

During this time Kerrak was to, once again, prove himself time and again by throwing himself into the bloodiest and hardest fought knots of trouble he cound find. And all of this for the simple glory of the Ducal house, and the throne held by the Tassnehof line. For long had the two familes, al`Nerun and Tassnehof been allied. Due to his actions, he quickly rose through the depleted officer corps of the country, many having been killed during the first movements of the civil war, and others having defected. From a newly minted Sword-Lieutenant of Foot, to eventual command, as a Lance-Captain over his own regiment of horse, and eventually into the ranks of the elite Brotherhood of Janeiro where his skills once again saw him rising from the lowly rank of Sword-Brother, to Lieutenant of Horse. The young noble's star was ascending, and it was not long after this that that rising star was truly noticed by the high command in Meadowford.

For it was also not long before his Brotherhood placement that Burel Tassnehof, the truly named Duke of Thessilane was found in the nearby province of Myrken and returned to his birthright. With his return came a restructuring of the Loyalist army and a concentrated effort to end the conflict. It was during this time that Kerrak was removed from his position within the Brotherhood and once more returned to the regular army. Only this time he was appointed as the commander of the Army of the Meadowlands, and then tasked with finally bringing to heel the rebels in the towns of Orvere, the County of Calael and the Barony of Althain. As seemed to be the usual for this upstart commander, he achieved these tasks quite well, earning himself the appellation of 'Walltaker' for the ease in which he tore asunder the walls of Fortress Althain and the first time he had to take the city of Orvere. Many in the inner circles of the Duchy believe it to be a combination of Duke Burel's changes to the military forces, and appointing original thinking (and hot headed) men to Generalship with the swift end of the Schism

Thanks to his efforts with the Army of the Meadowlands, and the ending of the Schism itself, Kerrak was once more thrust into a spotlight. For once again the Duke of Thessilane felt it needed to reform the armies under his command. Once this task was done, the Duke offered Kerrak a place as the Captain of his personal guard, the Companions. It was a post he almost declined, until he realised that this would be the ultimate position in his life-long want to serve the country he had been born too. From here he would take up the mantle of Captain, and serve as Burel's right arm, and the hand of his more sinister justice. It was a position he served in for the remainder of his time in Thessilane, up until he travelled with the Duke and his entourage for the first visit back to Myrken Wood in over a decade. Here, again, he saw a place for change in his life. A change that would eventually lead to the resignation of his position and move of his person to the aforementioned province. To take up the mantle of Councilor and try to protect the people.

A little over two years ago, Kerrak al`Nerun entered into the political scene of Myrken Wood, getting himself appointed to the seat of Councilor of Defence and Civil Security. His many acts were to preserve the status of the Order of Straka and to make sure they recieved the funding they deserved, and to maintaining the insane wall project first brought to the fore by Councilor Giscard. In these tasks, he sought to attain for the people of Myrken a sense of safety and contentment they may not have felt in years. In this time, as well, he would start to develop powers which would start his feet upon yet another past. Yet this one would be darker and tainted by shadow more than any other he had ever trod upon. For he had discovered his innate talent to command the Power, and the very forces of nature itself. And with them, he decided, he would preserve the integrity of his new home, and keep the people safe with his Light given Fire.

Now more than a year after having learned of this gift of fire, and the Power which fueled it (and him), time has seen a shift in the mind of Kerrak al`Nerun. For the means, which had always been in a moral grey zone, are truly justified. And if you walk in shadow, and are a traitor to the provine of Myrken Wood then perhaps you should beware of the Firey Cardinal, who lurks in the shadows and bides his time. Waiting for the proper moment to start his Cleansing, where he will Purge by Fire all the unclean and unjust in Myrken, and finally give the populace safety from thievery and the inhumane...

History
Born in the year 172, into the House al`Nerun in Almark, Thessilane As second son, his lot, and wish, was to enter into service to the royal seat in Meadowford.

About Burel
He was brought to the digital screen, as it were, from a need to play someone who was upright and just. Who strove to do the right thing, not for the sake of the law, but because it was the right thing to do. Truthfully, I had gotten tired of playing either Paladin-esque characters or the somewhat dark lurker in shadow-magelings. And so, Burel was born. I think this was back in 1996, after I had already been with the 'Dagger for two years. God. Have I been playing for that long? In any case, his backstory changed a bit after Wendy invited me to bring him back as a visiting noble, since he was already in 'charge' of a nation in the world of Trae Kelsa. So then. I guess this'll make his history, and background, less maellable and more concrete. Also, it may give others (if they've got the strange need) to play people from this background and history, and perhaps from the Schism. Let's see.

History
Youth
He was born around the year 172 AR, during the height of a Thessilaneian summer, to his parents Geran Davian Aed Tassnehof and Elayne Isobelle Olivian Tassnehof. In the ten years the two had been wed, only once had the Duchess become heavy with child, and that was lost in late term due to an illness. Thus, the birth of Burel Gaius Tassnehof, was a godsend. It also helped Duke Geran attempt to solidify his hold upon his throne. To this end, the boy would be schooled in a manner suiting his station. At a tender age he was made to sit through the teachings of Thane Erebus Redclaw and a court mage named Melchoir the Grey. A hard thing to sit through, when one is barely out of diapers. It was during this time that the first stirrings of the civil war, called the Schism, started to take form.

For, sadly, the more progressive policies of Duke Gareth were digging into the sensibilities and styles of the older nobility. Much of the younger nobles, men who had struggled to reach their titles and postions were supportive, but the old guard had issue with this. For Duke Geran had a saying: "Our people, the peasants and the yeomen are not here to provide us with stability and station. We are here to use our station to provide them with stability and peace." And many were the old guard nobles who were used to their ways, using their serfs in the manner they had become accustomed too. That is, using them up and taxing them until they were little more than slaves. And it was during this time of learning and simmering civil strife that Burel was tutored with the same inclination and duty.

Unfortunately, the succession would not proceed in a manner that Burel nor his father would have forseen. For as the boy turned five, and the Ducal party was enroute to the neighboring territory of Heath, they were struck by an orcish raid. At this tender age, he saw the valiant men of the Crimson Guard overrun, his father use the ancestral blade Weatherstorm until struck by a dozen black orcish arrows, and his mother perish by throwing herself over him to protect him from the jab of a spear. To the only survivor, in this instant, was born a deep-rooted hatred for the green-skinned race. It was only twenty five years later that he discovered the truth of the matter, and his dislike for the orcs lessened. For his family had been murdered by the order of the Usurper-Baron Adolph Karl Wiglaf. Soon after the raid, the young Heir, now Duke, was discovered by the Dwarves of the Red Hills.

With the Dwarves
Found by a patrol of Dwarves, led by their clan-hold leader Beran, Burel was soon sent into seclusion with the hardy mountain-dwelling folk. His survival, and the ends of his parents were fowarded to the Thane of Meadowford, Erebus Redclaw, and a plan of safety decided upon between the two of them. The clan would protect and raise the youth, and thus keep him safe from the depredations of Wiglaf and his cronies. Whilst in the mean time Erebus would hold the country together until the time that Burel was in his majority and could actively defend himself. An agreement was made between the two, and his tutelage under the Dwarves began.

With the stalwart folk under the mountains of the Red Hills, Burel was taught how to use the sword and shield. The axe and the mace. The sling and the bow. How to fight in formation, and how to fight alone. How to protect against a man (Or dwarf in this case) on horseback, and how to threaten a man afoot from the back of a mighty steed. Along with this he was taught the skills needed to survive alone in the wilderness within and without of the clanhold. How to make do on the steep slopes of the mountains, or in the deep dells of the forests. Of all of the things he was taught, he was also trained to be a leader. The man did not understand why, truly, for memories of his youth before the orcish assault were hazy and dim. He believed he was being trained by the dwarves to help lead them in a war against the green skinned interlopers, but in the end, this prooved to not be the truth.

For upon his sixteenth birthday, he was gifted with four items. The family sword, Weatherstorm, as his birthright. A suit of mithral-inlaid platemail for protection against all that would ail him. Aetherwind, a sword faintly reminiscent of a katana, as Burel showed more aptitude with the sweeping cuts and strikes of those weaponry over the more blunt and heavier blades and hammers he had trained with. And lastly, the ducal signet ring, for rememberance and to show him the truth of what was out there. Thusly, trained and knowing how to take care of himself, the DwarfLord Beran gave the boy one last gift, this being a sack of gold and clothes to wear. And a mandate to find his destiny. And so he did so, starting by heading west. West, away from the Red Hills and everything he knew. And, amusingly, away from the troubles of the Schism. For while he was to be the man who ended the troubles, he knew little about them and knew less about the people who fought for him.

Travels in the World and Wood
After leaving the Red Hills, Burel made his way west and inevitably away from the conflict that had arisen because of his missing status. Surely, as he would state it, a few times he was caught up in a skirmish between the two sides. Once while trying to work his way out of the Hills themselves, and again just before he made it to the border with Derry, which at the time had closed their borders with the struggling nation. His travels took him from the place that was his birthright and into the province in which he would form friendships and emnities that would last until the current day. For Myrken would be a place of trials for the youth.

A time in which a band of uncouth troublemakers known as the Unnamed wandered the streets of Myrken and the government of the place seemed ill able to deal with the troubles they created. A band of 'heros' who called themselves the Third Arm also strove to right whatever wrongs the Unnamed had to offer. It was a delicate time in which much of Burel's unswavering dedication came into play time and again. Time and again he found himself targeted by their assaults, and coming close to dying himself on several occasions. The help of another foreign dignitary, who only went by the name of Once, did he manage to keep himself alive and mostly hale. In due time he was finally discovered by the Thane of Meadowford who had been searching for the missing heir almost since the day he had left the dwarven enclave of the Red Hills.

He had come searching for the man who bore the Ducal signet ring and return him to his people, for there was a civil war that needed to be settled. And it was not something that could have been done in a land that was a long journey away. And so it was in this moment that Erebus restored to Thessilane the rightful heir to the throne, and brought him back to his people. It would be more than ten years before Burel, now Duke of Thessilane, would return to the province in which he had first tested himself against the darker aspects of the world.

Home
Burel was proclaimed Duke in the capitol city of Thessilane, Meadowford, by the Thane and immediately placed at the head of his armies. While he would, in time, becoming a more than capable commander and leader of men, this would be the first time he had to keep control of men other than himself upon the field of battle. His very first engagement, little more than a skirmish really, led to the devestation of not only the force sent against him by General Turhil, but of his own command. Boros Bridge was a field of battle that Burel would never forget and forced him to recruit the assistance of the Gray Lancers and their expertise. For while he knew how to fight, he did not know how to command. From their commander, he learned not only how to command, but also when and why to draw his sword. Important things to know when you were expected to lead your forces from atop a nearby hill and leave the slogging to the men that you commanded.

Also, he was taught when it was important to charge into the fray, and when to inspire those around him. Tempestro Starr taught him much of these things, and was another lesson which he would never forget.

((work in progress))

Inception
The Gray Lancers, are a renown mercenary company, headed by Lochlain Kohler and previously Captained by Deost. They are comprised of different parts, headed by a solitary Lt. At present, their base of operations is Tempestia as it's noble guard.

History
Their history is shrouded - slightly, as the original conception was made for a different world, and a different campaign - and due to resolved continuity issues - they've been planted firmly in the world of the Broken Dagger.

They were headed by an older gentleman named, Arn Grindel, until his death in battle in a far-flung section of Amasynia. It was then, that the mantle was passed unto Deost to lead the Lancers home. And it was a sworn promise to Arn, that the Lancers one day, would have a place of their own in the world - where the men could rest, relax - and live their lives in peace.

The Old Days
Various wars, border-skirmishes, and various disputes - were settled by the mercenary company. Their greatest rivals, the Black Dagger guild, who extorted different jobs from under them and were a great source of hatred for the Lancers. They fought, frequently, in different border-skirmishes, and sometimes - they'd take jobs just for the sake of fighting each other. They even, once, captured the Captain of the Lancers, for an extended period of time. Little is known what happened in that period.

And none in the Lancers themselves, ever ask.

Thessilane-New Dauntless War
Under the command of, Deost, and in the employ of Duke Burel of Thessilane, the Gray Lancers entered the Thessilane-New Dauntless border-war. Given the charge of stopping enemy Wizards, and other covert activities, the Gray Lancers helped Duke Burel greatly in the prolonged war. Given clearance to have a secret privateer fleet - they also raided up and down Dauntless' coast, seizing goods, and war materials. This led to quite the coffers for the Lancers, and, was their greatest campaign - and most profitable.

Tempestia
With the proceeds from the Thessilane-New Dauntless war, the Gray Lancers, under their Captain - with negotiations from Duke Burel as a personal favor, was granted lands across the Sisakoon Mountains, and somewhat near Derry.

They carved out a country, founded by mercenaries, a haven for mercenaries, and created a grand Mercenary Guild - complete with progressive governmental attitudes - and not under Trae Kelsan rule. However, since they house most of the mercenaries in the region - and because of the beauracracy it entails in fairness, and civil law - Trae Kelsa's King, hasn't deigned it necessary to infiltrate, nor mess with it's rule.

The Present
At present, the Gray Lancers, are stationed in Tempestia - as it's law-keepers, and it's border-guards. The majority of the Lt's from this era of them, are now Tempestia's provinicial lords, and serve on the council of Tempestia. It is a peaceful country - with warlike people living in it.
Topography

The main defense comes from the Army of the Meadowlands, commanded by Duke Burel himself. Three other armies exist under various nobles and generals. Policing is done by the army or local militia.

* Coran D'zir, the Count of Calael, counsel to the Duke.
** Aislinn, the Countess of Calael and betrothed of Coran.

Boros Bridge was a field of battle that Burel would never forget and forced him to recruit the assistance of the Grey Lancers and their expertise.

Brotherhood of Janerio:
Created over six hundred years ago by the city fathers of Janerio, a city near the base of the Red Hills in the province of Almark, the Brotherhood has gone from the civil militia of the town to a mercenary company of elite cavalry. They are currently led by Kerrak al'Nerun, who was once commander of the elite military formation called The Companions, who form part of the bodyguard of the Duke of Thessilane. Now they reside in the province of Myrken Wood, and have retaken their roll as a provincial militia… for a price, of course.

History:
Originally formed by the mayoral council of Janerio, in the principality of Almark, some six hundred and fifty years ago. They were created to form the backbone of defense against the raiding bands from the Thesil meadows, and the occasional tribe of Orc that would come down from the Red Hills. They served in this capacity until the people of the Meadowlands were gathered under a single banner some hundred years later. Then they assisted in holding back the invading horde until the clash at Sesvyr, which saw the defeat of the Prince of Almark at the hands of the Thane of Meadowford. At this point, the province of Almark was annexed and added to the slowly growing kingdom.

From there they were offered entrance into the unruly army of horsemen that would eventually become the Army of the Meadowlands, adding to it a staunch force of footmen where once there was naught. They remained with the conquering armies until the First Consolidation nearly a hundred years later. By this time all but the troublesome city of Orvere and the island nation of Jaheuss had withstood the conquering forces of the Meadowlanders, and the services of the Brotherhood were no longer needed. So, the grandsons of the men who had departed with the original Brotherhood returned home, and found that they weren’t truly wanted.

Time had changed these returning men, time and conflict, and this made them feel ill at ease when they returned to their ancestral home. Collectively they had seen and participated in so much more than their kin that they would eventually pull up roots. A year after returning to Janerio, they once again offered their services to the newly installed Baron of Almark, to serve as a mercenary company in and around the province. Since then, that is what they did. Right up until the Schism after the death of Duke Geran.

From thence they joined with the Loyalist forces that sided with the Erebus Redclaw, the Thane of Meadowford, against the Usurper-Baron Adolph Karl Wiglaf. They formed the official company sent from Almark to defend the Ducal capitol and await the return of the Heir, Burel Tassnehof, who had been sent into hiding until he was old enough to retake the throne. It was during this time the most notable members of the Brotherhood were to join. Amongst them being Kerrak al'Nerun, Jons Feul, Gerhard Karolinger and Damien Stanislav. It was also during this time that the Brotherhood separated from their roots as a company traditionally centered around the foot soldier, to a band that preferred tactical mobility and flexibility. And so, they became a company of horse.

Current Status:
Currently the Brotherhood of Janerio is once again being commanded by Kerrak al'Nerun. He brought them from a recently pacified Almark and into the province of Myrken Wood where he sought to help protect the troubled land from the various depredations and troubles that wrack the territory. They had offered their services to the Order of Straka on several occasions, assisting in the patrols that traveled the length of Giscard’s Wall. Doing long term sorties into the woodlands of Myrken, where Straka was not prepared (or trained) to go. In general, they had become part of the defense of the province. Which suited, since their Captain had gotten himself elected as the Councilor of Defense and Civil Security.

They formed many a guard squad to assist travelers coming through the North Passage Down, or through Gilroy Pass. Indeed, the Brotherhood had continued to hire out their services for small skirmishes in Amasynia, Heath and Derry while their full presence was not in demand within the Province. All this has changed, of course, with the termination of the Order of Straka’s commission and contract with Myrken Wood.

Since Straka’s dissolution Kerrak has installed the Brotherhood in as the new primary defensive force of the region, going so far as to reincorporate those from the Order of Straka who still felt strongly about defending their homeland. This has swelled their numbers some considerable amount (let no one say that the stalwart members of Straka were cowards) which means that the Brotherhood can perform all of the duties of their predecessors and more. It also adds some legitimacy to their calling, as many of those who now where the grey and black of Janerio once wore the indigo of Straka.

Their patrols can be seen heavily patrolling the trade district of the slowly growing town, and their presence can be felt all along the Wall that circles the province. The only place that the Brotherhood has had to forestall their usual patrols is in the deeper woodlands and along the throughways into other provinces.

Which is why they are recruiting even more men into their ranks. They have been seen trying to encourage others who had left the Order of Straka to rejoin their brethren, as well as inviting youths around town into their ranks. All one has to do is survive the first two weeks of training…

History
Born just under thirty-five ago as the second son of the noble house of al`Nerun in Almark, Thessilane As second son, his lot, and wish, was to enter into service to the royal seat in Meadowford.

Current

History
Born just under thirty-five ago as the second son of the noble house of al`Nerun in Almark, Thessilane As second son, his lot, and wish, was to enter into service to the royal seat in Meadowford. And train he did, occasionally returning home to dabble in love and politics until he was deemed old enough to add his strength to the Loyalist forces during the Schisim, a period of civil strife within the Duchy.

From a newly minted Sword-Lieutenant of Foot, to eventual command, as a Lance-Captain over his own regiment of horse, and eventually into the ranks of the elite Brotherhood of Janerio where his skills once again saw him rising from the lowly rank of Sword-Brother, to Lieutenant of Horse.

Many in the inner circles of the Duchy believe it to be a combination of Duke Burel's changes to the military forces, and appointing original thinking (and hot headed) men to Generalship with the swift end of the Schisim

Thanks to his efforts with the Army of the Meadowlands, and the ending of the Schisim itself, Kerrak was once more thrust into a spotlight.

Current

Now more than a year after having learned of this gift of fire, and the Power which fuled it (and him), time has seen a shift in the mind of Kerrak al`Nerun.
