The only known practitioners of this faith in Myrken Wood are the ex-soldier-now-farmer Aereyemus Haar and his wife, Shyla.
The cult itself was built around a single God, and a myriad of demi-gods and saints, who represented various virtues and aspects of the universe. Religious texts and legends place Elyndhor as a mythical hero in an age long since past, before the rise of Men. Elyndhor, himself, was born of auspicious origins, under a specific sign, which read in the stars passes only once every ten thousand years or so, and rose to overthrow the Lord of Death and Night, who held the world at his mercy at the end of the First Age. Though a minority faith for many centuries, it rose to promience in the Republic of Eredware following the overthrow of the Highlands Consortium nearly six centuries ago and was widely practiced throughout the sprawling republic. Elyndhor became the patron God of the Sun and founded his cult before his acsension, behooving his followers to guide their lives by the eight tenets: Honesty, Trust, Love, Loyalty, Self-Sacrifice, Humility, Courage, Temperance and Faith.
Numerous orders sprung out of the central church, including the Orders of St. Keldai Ala Mirin, or the Cder Sunae, an august order of Gods-touched Paladins who sought to keep balance and order, the House of St. Balan, a charitable organization that looked after orphans, the infirm, and rendered aid to travellers, and the Martyred Crucible of St. Anei of Lamaciua, who watches over beggars, prostitutes, and offers guidance and salvation to the fringe and bottom elements of society.

Sadly, the religion is all but extinct as the Church's assets were liquidated during the Blight of Thorns and the Inquistion of Knives during the Great Collapse of Eredware. Nearly all of the major figures were either executed, banished, or faced far darker fates and lay people were converted, often forcibly to the new Cult of Blight. The Grand Pontifex, Theyrenius, has been missing since the collapse, though the cells of the religion that still exist, operate in secret and keep the faith that their leader and church will be restored to its proper place.

The Inqusition of Knives, an integral part of the Blight of Thorns occured on 12th Summer's Ebb (August) of 522 C.E., and began with a bloody sacking of the Cder Sunae Monastery in Tannhauser, after Kyue Relenka decreed himself the new Pontifex of Eredware the previous week following the deposing of Theyrenius, the previous Pontifex. Lead by Jae Havara and a nameless traitor to the Order, nearly half of the members were culled or converted into Blackguards by the invading force. The entire monestary was leveled by the force which included legions of various undead, traitors, and the Republican Army which had sworn fealty to Kyue Relenka.

Following the sacking of the Monestary, many members of the Cder Sunae swore their allegience to Kyue Relenka or fled into exile, scattering themselves across the world or living in hiding in the old Republic of Eredware. The Inqusition of Knives also slaughtered hundreds, if not thousands, of priests, prelates, cardinals and other religious figures in the Church of Elyndhor and forcibly converted nearly all of the laypeople and parishoners to the Cult of Blight.
* Locals may have noticed some changes over at the Rememdium Edificium. Doctor D'Rael has left Myrken Wood to return to his homeland, and now the hospital has been left in the hands of his nervous, but dedicated workers: Janessa, Bryce, and Raziqa. -- Rattrap, 4/10/06

* Following the destabilization of Myrken Wood's government in the past half year, the Order of Straka has effectively disbanded with the resignation of Captain Thomas Daniels. Councilor Kerrak al'Nerun has been quick to pick up the pieces, introducing the Brotherhood of Janerio to take Straka's place, even taking in Straka guardfolk who still wish to serve. -- Rattrap, 4/10/06

* Notes and signs have been popping up all over Myrken Wood speaking out against Myrken Wood's political leaders as well as the current governmental situation, including the disbanding of the Order of Straka and the coming of the Brotherhood of Janerio; the notes have all been signed "People of Myrkenwood." -- Rattrap, 4/10/06

* There's been a series of pick-pocketings going on in broad daylight. People have had their purses snatched in the marketplace areas, yet still have not been able to pin down the culprit. So far, no one has been hurt nor any property damaged. -- Pipkin, 4/15/06

* The mutilated body of Governor Altias Bromn was found some time ago, the injuries so severe as to leave it almost unrecognisable. A new Governor has not been selected -- and with the loss of three Councilors, Myrken Wood is without substantial leadership. -- Carnath-Emory, 4/15/06

* Strange noises have been heard in one of the rooms of the Broken Dagger late at night, accompanied by the smell of mint lately. Muffled screams (female-sounding), sounds of impacts, and metal upon metal may occasionally sound out. Nothing ever too loud, though. -- Ignas Demonsbane, 4/19/06

* Continued sightings of dark elven patrols have evaded anything but gaze at various, more underpopulated points of Myrken Wood. Although no more further reports of murder have come as a result, their presence continues to grow more formidable and threatening. -- Rance, 4/20/06

* A string of kidnappings have been plaguing the whispers of Broken Dagger tavern-goers -- most notably, the guard D'ran, and the newcomers Kaelum and his elven compatriot Reverie have been said to be missing. Also: Broken Dagger owner Molly O'Neill and her betrothed Mikhail have both gone missing, most notably since the demands that drow inquisitors Audmathus and Faeryl made to have some journal or book of import returned to them. Some believe that Mikhail himself has gone alone to retrieve his beloved soon-to-be-wife.

* Tsoss, the baby of councilor Suede Roschen and the drow Jirai is also rumored to be missing, though many believe that Jirai herself had something to do with this particular kidnapping. -- Rance, 4/20/06

* The Broken Dagger has been host to an unseen creature for the past few months. Endless numbers of 'zombies' in the likeness of others have been attacking patrons and tavern staff recklessly and without any other obvious cause than to feed. While no apparent headway has been made combatting the creature, a group has come to learn a means of combatting It, lead by Arcadia Silverwind. 3/21/06 - Submitted by Rattrap

* Drow have appeared in Myrken Wood in great numbers in the recent months. They have attacked the town at large on multiple occasion, including a night raid and the poisoning of Myrken's children. They have been more frequently active in the Broken Dagger, where officials like Councilor Kerrak al'Nerun and Captain Thomas Daniels have tried to stop them, without success. Among the Drow's new faces is that of Myrken's long-thought-defeated villain, Audmathus. 3/21/06 - Submitted by Rattrap

* Myrken Wood's Council has been quiet recently, with only Councilors Kerrak al'Nerun and Giscard Guillaume active. Suede Roschen is evidentially in hiding after accusations made by Captain Thomas Daniels, Altias Bromn is believed to be dead (much more strongly, this time), and Aloisius Treadwell is rumored to have turned into King Richard Aengus, the Fairy King of New Hiberia. 3/21/06 - Submitted by Rattrap
Aereyemus Haar, born Aerey, was an orphan child raised in an orphange run by Linus, an elderly priest of the House of St. Balan, in the town of Pelegias, far to the southwest of Myrken Wood. His life in the orphange was a simple, happy one, playing with the other children and listening to legends and religious stories taught by Father Linus until the age of 9, where the House of St. Balan was acquired by the Berin Trade Magnate, and closed down through governmental corruption, bribery and a series of crushed tracheas. Thrown alone into the world, he was adopted by Andystar and Rianna Telemar, middle-class merchants in the city of Mosstone. This existence did not last long however, as Rianna succumbed soon after Haar's adoption to a wasting disease, which the overly superstitious Andystar blamed on the young boy. Throwing the boy out into the cold streets of the bustling trading town after a series of severe beatings and turned to necromancy in the vague hopes of restoring his departed wife to life. Nearly a year later, during a prank with his friend, the street urchin, Talus, Haar made the acquaintence of Robert Telweis. The two boys had broken into Andystar's estate to steal a small, but sentimental artifact; with Telweis following them, conducting an investigation of his own into reports of necromatic magic being used on the premises. The prank failed as they were discovered, and Talus abandoned Haar to his fate, being used as a sacrifice to resurrect Rianna in a most unholy ritual. Telweis, appearing just moments before the boy was sacrificed, destroyed Andystar and the abominations he had spawned in his experiments, realized there was a latent potential that could be unlocked in the boy. Spiriting the youth away, he would take Haar to the capital of Eredware, Tannhauser, and begin his induction and training into the Cder Sunae Order.

Training and Induction:

The next six years of Haar's life were unimaginably difficult, yet rewarding. The boy learned the secrets of the order and trained to become a stalwart warrior, spellsword, and mediator. The religious experience also left a profound impact on Haar, and the boy became unwaveringly loyal to the teachings and the tenets of the Church of Elyndhor. He set out on a number of errands, quests and assorted duties for the church and the order, meant to test his mettle and worthiness. Most were simple dispute diffusions, but others included rooting out cults of Demonologists, Necromancers, and other profane organizations that were considered an affront to the church. On the even of his 16th year, he and Telweis were sent to investigate the appearance of a Hellwyrm, ravaging the countryside near the village of Al-Baran, in the Southern Provinces. Though the battle with the dragon, no more than a wyrmling, would be a foreshadowing of darker plots coursing through the Republic.

The Krynn Nagai Campaign against the Beastmen:

Not long after Haar was inducted fully in the order as a Knight-Errant, the Southern Swampland Provinces of Eredware erupted into Civil War, demanding independence and self-determination for the Beastfolk, lead by a charismatic half-breed named Arce Pei. Haar proved himself a capable military commander time and time again, even in his youth, though the campaign to pacify the region was stymied by miserable weather, unfamiliar terrain and a seemingly unending horde of rebels. Finally, the Battle of Krynn Nagai decided the turning point of the war, where Haar met face to face with Arce Pei himself and dueled with the leader, as the skies themselves opened up, crackling with dark energy and pouring heavy rains upon them. Defeating and maiming Arce Pei, Haar held the beaten Beastlord at his mercy. Words that burned forever into Haar's mind, "You know that this is only a facade, all of this. You have no idea about the forces at work," slew the Beastman in a fury of rage, figuring it was bluff. Moments later, Telweis came and found Haar standing over the slain leader and scolded the boy for letting his emotions and passions getting the better of him.

Teutoberg Meadow is a medium sized farm just beyond the outskirts of Myrkentown, purchased by Haar and his then-fiancee, Shyla in the previous year. Originally abandoned, Haar laid claim and purchased the land for a rather paltry sum. Within a season, he had rebuilt the farm and turned it into a reasonably prosperous plot of land, where he grows wheat, tubers, a few citrus trees, and keeps a myriad of lifestock, mostly chickens and pigs, with a milk cow and bull, a two horses and the odd duck. The farm house itself is a plainly painted, simple, single-story but comfortable dwelling consisting of a living and eating area, porch, two bedrooms, a small study and a storage basement. There is also a large barn, beer distillery, chicken coop, and small pond where water fowl often congregate during the warmer months. The two rarely leave the farm except to sell their produce, eggs, and occasionally butched animal. Other residents include a few farmhands who live in residences near the farm, a myriad of semi-feral barn cats which keep the rodent population in check, the Alsatian Schaffhund, Abwehr, and the lemur, Sir`j, the latter two often seen antagonizing each other.

The Church of Elyndhor was the principle religion of the Republic of Eredware before the Great Collapse and subsequent subjugation and inquisition by Kyue Relenka. Many of the major religious figures, leaders, and the Order of Paladins built around the Church were expunged and dismantled during the Inqusition of Thorns.
