Early years:

Aereyemus Haar, born Aerey, was an orphan child raised in an orphange run by Linus, an elderly priest of the House of St. Balan, in the town of Pelegias, far to the southwest of Myrken Wood. His life in the orphange was a simple, happy one, playing with the other children and listening to legends and religious stories taught by Father Linus until the age of 9, where the House of St. Balan was acquired by the Berin Trade Magnate, and closed down through governmental corruption, bribery and a series of crushed tracheas. Thrown alone into the world, he was adopted by Andystar and Rianna Telemar, middle-class merchants in the city of Mosstone. This existence did not last long however, as Rianna succumbed soon after Haar's adoption to a wasting disease, which the overly superstitious Andystar blamed on the young boy. Throwing the boy out into the cold streets of the bustling trading town after a series of severe beatings and turned to necromancy in the vague hopes of restoring his departed wife to life. Nearly a year later, during a prank with his friend, the street urchin, Talus, Haar made the acquaintence of Robert Telweis. The two boys had broken into Andystar's estate to steal a small, but sentimental artifact; with Telweis following them, conducting an investigation of his own into reports of necromatic magic being used on the premises. The prank failed as they were discovered, and Talus abandoned Haar to his fate, being used as a sacrifice to resurrect Rianna in a most unholy ritual. Telweis, appearing just moments before the boy was sacrificed, destroyed Andystar and the abominations he had spawned in his experiments, realized there was a latent potential that could be unlocked in the boy. Spiriting the youth away, he would take Haar to the capital of Eredware, Tannhauser, and begin his induction and training into the Cder Sunae Order.

Training and Induction:

The next six years of Haar's life were unimaginably difficult, yet rewarding. The boy learned the secrets of the order and trained to become a stalwart warrior, spellsword, and mediator. The religious experience also left a profound impact on Haar, and the boy became unwaveringly loyal to the teachings and the tenets of the Church of Elyndhor. He set out on a number of errands, quests and assorted duties for the church and the order, meant to test his mettle and worthiness. Most were simple dispute diffusions, but others included rooting out cults of Demonologists, Necromancers, and other profane organizations that were considered an affront to the church. On the even of his 16th year, he and Telweis were sent to investigate the appearance of a Hellwyrm, ravaging the countryside near the village of Al-Baran, in the Southern Provinces. Though the battle with the dragon, no more than a wyrmling, would be a foreshadowing of darker plots coursing through the Republic.

The Krynn Nagai Campaign against the Beastmen:

Not long after Haar was inducted fully in the order as a Knight-Errant, the Southern Swampland Provinces of Eredware erupted into Civil War, demanding independence and self-determination for the Beastfolk, lead by a charismatic half-breed named Arce Pei. Haar proved himself a capable military commander time and time again, even in his youth, though the campaign to pacify the region was stymied by miserable weather, unfamiliar terrain and a seemingly unending horde of rebels. Finally, the Battle of Krynn Nagai decided the turning point of the war, where Haar met face to face with Arce Pei himself and dueled with the leader, as the skies themselves opened up, crackling with dark energy and pouring heavy rains upon them. Defeating and maiming Arce Pei, Haar held the beaten Beastlord at his mercy. Words that burned forever into Haar's mind, "You know that this is only a facade, all of this. You have no idea about the forces at work," slew the Beastman in a fury of rage, figuring it was bluff. Moments later, Telweis came and found Haar standing over the slain leader and scolded the boy for letting his emotions and passions getting the better of him.
