"Look at what they do! They try and control us, take away what few liberties we have and deny us any hope of controlling our own lives. They seal the wall they claim is here to defend us to lock us all behind it, seperated from hope and the escape many of you desire...."

Former Governor Altias Bromn raised a mob and marched on Governor Helstone's interim office (this being a few months after the Meetinghouse was burned down), intent on ousting him from power for reasons I don't entirely recall and which may not have been clearly specified at the time. Something about tyranny, maybe, that's the usual excuse. The Brotherhood of Janeiro, headed by Aeryn Karolinger, joined the march for their own reasons.

The Constabulary, under command of Cinnabar Calomel, moved to halt the advance by forming a cordon around the Governor's office. A brief standoff was followed by a similarly brief skirmish, with Janeiro bowmen firing upon the defending Constables. Some reports hold that Ariane Emory flew overhead on the back of a dragon whose fiery breath incinerated a volley of arrows, but it's possible the people making such reports got hit in the head with cobblestones and were somewhat confused as a result.

After a while Governor Helstone surrendered rather than see further bloodshed, and Altias Bromn resumed his role as Governor of Myrken Wood.
