There are legends through the kingdoms and territories of [[Trae Kelsa]], tales that speak of a fierce people who once lived in the south who revere the [[dragon]] gods and follow the Old Ways. Though they considered themselves to be descendants of Dragons, their rodent-like appearance and ferocity had earned them the widely-used and derogatory term of Rats. A great battle was fought against them, and won; and soon these Rats faded into legend. Save one, who clings to this mortal plane still.

Her name is Dame Friali, Knight of the Order of the Dragon. When the great Doom was brought against her people, she alone staggered fleeing away. She wanders now, a guardian with no charge.
