'''Matthew Duvall''' is proud to be a member of the Order of Straka.

For the first eight years of his employment, he shifted between small merchant organizations, moving to the job that paid better, or to a better run company. He got tired of protecting overland caravans, and decided to try protecting ships. The sea and he did not quite get along as he'd planned, and he met [[Jahon Ibn Khalheem]] on one of his ships, and accepted an offer to take the place of his head of security.

He very much enjoyed the ten years he spent working for Khalheem and his spice company. Unfortunately, a bad year of spice production, combined with Khalheem's best ship being overtaken by pirates, bankrupted his company and left Duvall without caravans to protect. After leaving Khalheem's service, he traveled north, looking for something that felt less like he was protecting someone's monetary interests and more like he was protecting people. Hence, he discovered [[Myrken Wood]], and the [[Order of Straka]].

He has been with the Order of Straka since the elevation of [[Gareth Rayin Taliaferro|Captain Taliaferro]]. He helped with much of the recruitement. Captain Taliaferro built most of the new headquarters, and hired most of the current guardmembers, with the help of his first Lieutenants.

Besides helping with those endeavors, he helped hunt down many a murderer, theif, demon, and vampire.
