* Banishing rumours of his demise, [[Altias Bromn|Bromn]] returns to [[Myrken Wood]], where he is re-instated as [[Governor]].

* Garald Rose dies, victim of an illness that will soon come to be known as the [[Bloody Flux]]. His mother [[Dea Rose|Dea]] travels to [[Myrkentown]] in search of word upon the disease, meeting other sufferers of it along the way.

* [[Klenn Mertson|Klenn]] and [[Gertie Merston]] are found murdered on their farmlands by the unfortunate [[Cap Coulter]]. Klenn's body is discovered in the fields, set atop his mule, also dead; the two are held upright by a support of wooden poles and coarse rope, so that from a distance they appear almost to be alive. Gertie has been similarly erected in her own kitchen, a wooden bowl and stirring spoon in her dead hands. The word <b>BELIEVE</b> is carved into her forehead.
