 He found a battle in the small kingdom of Drathmoore, as a horde of gnolls moved for the land's borders. It was in this battle , outside the small border town of Caarus, with these gnolls that something horrible happened. In a clash with Knarragul Blackclaw, the gnollish leader who turned out to be an Ilarian elf in disguise, Odyn, Seth's mount and long time companion, was slain. This set Seth into a violent rage in which he cast a massive lightning based spell. The magic consumed his physical being, more or less turning him into living lightning caught in a storm. The magnitude of the spell obliterated the gnollish horde and killed their leader. Seth was proclaimed dead, however, as there was no sign of him save for a pile of clothing and his sword, Twilight Heart, which seemed to be 'dead' so to speak.
