Jack Hickensen was a long-time Sergeant for the Order of Straka, and did his duties well. He became a friend to Thomas Daniels, providing a sympathetic ear to the heat the Straka Captain constantly took. He and Janis Williams were often called to investigate some of the weirder killings around Myrken Wood.

Hickensen was abducted by agents of Suede Roschen when Daniels had accused the Councilor of involvement in the Black Market, who tortured him for information and ultimately threw him off a roof to his death just outside the Straka Barracks - not before the brave soldier was able to partially write Suede's name on his back with the blood from his severed fingers.

This, though seen by Councilor Kerrak Al'nerun before Hickensen was cleaned up and buried, was largely ignored by the Judiciary Council when Daniels was making his case against Roschen..
