Appearance

Zalin Savoy.

Dark sharp-crisp intelligent eyes that are highlighted by dishwater blonde hair. Angular features, and thin frame. Of average height, but not average expression. His expressions tend to vary from cheerfulness to slight stoicism depending on the day, the hour, and the company. Dressed in amber tunic and brown linen pants - with calf-high riding boots. A leather satchel resting on one hip - and a dagger sitting on the other. Cultured mamnerisms aside, he's a relatively nice young man - appearing to be somewhere in his early twenties.

The Master Chef

During his formative years - he learned a great deal many *things* in the culinary arts. Mainly due to the fact he worked in the kitchens at the collegia where he studied to help pay for some of the schooling, training, and books that his family could not afford otherwise. This led to his rise of station - because his *talent* for the ars incontantlle was only surpassed by his ars culinary. And the fact he combined the two led him to be the premiere staff-cheff at his collegia. This earned him a reputation and some small earnings that he invested money into a pub in Razasan - and with his exotic foods - it became a surefire hit - and he gained much reputation for his family, and much needed coin. At present, he works at the Broken Dagger - having moved there - and serves as a cook and a bartender at certain times.

The Incontantlle

Aha, this is where Zalin gets interesting. He studed at the collegia ve Incontantlle from age 6 to age 18 - and graduated top class in his studies. However, due to his trainings - he was accepted as a Ricontant at age 19, and for the last few years has been one of the few actually *living* in Razasan. Now, what exactly is an Incontantlle and a Ricontant?

Simple explinations!

In Razasan, magicians, magic-users, wizards are called Amerella. However, they have their own special brand of magic-using that they call world-friendly, considering that they borrow power from the world - then give it right back after they're done using it.

Now, when an Amerella learns as much of the basics as they can, they pick a speciality to study. And Incontantlle is one such specialist. One who specializes in elemental effects. Now, do not think they are Elementalists. Because, Elementalists by nature are usually regarded as specializing in one singular Element alone.

This is not the case for Incontantlle. They use the elements and combine them together to create effects. The more powerful the Incontantlle the more elements that can mix simultaneously.

The Ricontant

The Ricontant is an Incontantlle that specializes in mixing different elements together to create dual effects, or create dual entities that harness the other for the effect. Also known as the Twin Elements, they're use of elements together is renown. They can make one element seem like another, or completely comingle elements into some odd half-element. They are not ones to be taken lightly and their spells are oddly flashy and just as deadly. Also, the Ricontant specializes in controlling base elements more then their less developed Incontantlle origins.

An example of this would be where a Ricontant first takes flame - and then uses air and water to take all the "heat" away from the flame itself. In doing so, the flame turns a dark blue - and actually burns by freezing - rather then by heat itself. Hence, the term frozen flames appeared in Ricontant history when Zyslivi Malvross first invented the effect and introduced it to the Ricontants, themselves.

Another example would be the combination of air and water - where compression of water by means of air - allows it to have a form, and it shot out like twin fangs that spiral together. The air moves the water, and the water in turn gives weight to the air. Combining both for a direct assault. This was invented by Captain Alvori Mendral, who was in the Amerella Corps in Razasan. It does considerable blunt trauma - without doing damage to the surroundings.

The Personality

Zalin, by far is a cultured minor noble, whom is very civil, respectful, and polite - when afforded the same. However, he is kind - but he can also be very blunt, tactless, and indignant - if the mood strikes. And usually, it's after an insult. He's very family oriented, as far as *his* family is concerned and very proud of his accomplishments - that he worked *so* hard to attain.

Cheerful, expressive, and talkative - sometimes he can be stoic, or stern. All in all, Zalin's a Savoy - all right.

The Present

At present, he is a cook at the Broken Dagger - having been spurred to apply by Reilly Thomas, the gardener. And, having taken her advice - he's now on staff, paid little, but enjoying himself readily. Also, it affords him ease of watching out for his little brother, Alastir.
