Kinny Fletcherson was the youngest son of Hugh Fletcher, the owner and proprietor of Hugh's Fletcherie, Myrkentown's most popular shop for bows, bolts, and arrows.
One evening Kinny dreamed that he was flying all around Myrken Wood. He awoke that it was no dream after all. He rocketed to his best friend, Gelbert's house to show Gelbert, Haw, and Bonner, the latter two being friends who were spending the night.
For weeks Kinny showed off his newly discovered flying ability to the children of Myrkentown. Many children even chose to take a ride, flying on Kinny's back.
Shortly thereafter, Kinny realized that his flying made the children of Myrkentown so happy. He figured that he should share his ability with the adults of Myrkentown too!
