Widowed at twenty years of age, when her (then) husband accepted a ridiculous challenge, Reilly made it her duty to tend his gravesite. Her husband, Jack, lies buried in the Soul Garden, a private cemetery that sprawls beyond the orchard on the Broken Dagger property.

Master Gardener, Gustavas MacCubbin, noticed the loving touch that the girl ministered to the grave whenever she visited the stone garden. He would often remark on her work, and sometimes ask her opinion over other plans he'd had for the cemetary and fields surrounding the Inn.

Their relationship grew in the few years of working together.

What began as a volunteer apprenticeship has turned into year-round work for Reilly Thomas. The Master Gardner has been appreciative of her talent. Over time, he has nurtured, taught and shared trade secrets with Reilly.

It helps that she is able to view and care for the Dagger's gardens as he does. His plans to retire grow stronger, while he prepares this trainee to take on his position, but there are a few years and a number of ideas that he has chosen to exercise first.

At twenty-something, Reilly Thomas is of optimal health. She takes great care of her small frame; however, she has a serious affection for bakery sweets. Her long, brown hair is bleached by the same sun that kisses her skin. The young widow has brown eyes and an overmodest smile. She is friendly, able to get along with just about anyone, but impersonal. Her love for open spaces and freedom among the flowers surpasses the need for human interaction, though she does make a point of socializing in the pub - just to keep up with society.
