Exterior

A plot with a fairly large house was purchased overnight. The sounds of hustle and bustle hard to ignore as night became morning. Morning eventually droned into afternoon; the action had not ceased. Several caravans had been parked along the dusty road as workers in plain clothes worked tirelessly to clean up the house, the yard and begin preparations of what appeared to be the arrival of someone rather important. Men with leathery flesh and beady eyes--hardly local one would see. They worked with such vigor that by midafternoon the rather elegant porch had been repaired in a rosy white color, decorated with flowers and had a small tea-style table and chairs set up at either side of the rather elegant green and gold door. A maroon carpet led from the first porch step's lip to the door--trimmed in gold embroidery.

The men continued to work, washing down the outside of the building--which was a rather nice pale peach in color. Some of the paint the men had matched enough to give it more character where spots had worn or blemished. The yard was repaired as well with a little help from an herbalist magician who used a pinch of florakinetic magick to repair the yard's splotchy and unappealing look. Roses lines the path leading up to the rather beautiful house, a small white picket fence hugged the perimeter of the properly, quickly occupying the spaces needed. More yardwork brought in stones to work the back yard, where a small tea party set was being placed a a rather beautiful patio arrangement. Arches of flowers from Roses to Morning Glories decorated the perimeter of this patio-like atmosphere.. creating a relaxing atmosphere almost immediately.

It seemed that most of the attention, for the time being, was working on the aesthetics of the outdoors--ensuring that no one would be particularly unhappy with the arrangements of flowers and other such extravagencies. And now that the outdoors was done, the sun slipping toward the horizon--the rather shady-seeming farmer's sons would continue on into the house itself to begin the preparations from within. There had been no arrival yet of the parties they were doing this for, however, making one wonder what the purpose was for all of this hard work!

The Interior

First Floor

The men began in the lobby, dusting and cleaning every inch of the wood floor until it was so clean and smooth. From there, they began to move in furniture carefully hauled by the large caravans. From desks, tables, chairs, credenzas, vanity tables, mirrors. Each first floor room was done up in a sea of pastels and flower-based colors. The lobby itseld housed a large walk-in closet where coats and other apparel could be stored at the discretion of the maitre'd who presides over this portion of the house, before ladies or butlers lead them off to other parts of the house.

Some rooms, like those toward the back of the house, were done in elegant wine colors--from blush to luscious merlot. Each room had its function the two that branched off from the double staircase were sitting/waiting rooms.. furnished with long, plush couches, mood lighting and a bar where drinks and small hor'de'ourves were served. One room was done in blush, the other in a darker more pleasing array of colors. These rooms led forth into sitting rooms, where a large coffee table dominated a room with loveseats and chairs all about. One room even had a fireplace with an exotic fur rug to allow for some romance to blossom perhaps. It's partner room was of the same sort of settup, without the fireplace. Places where people can sit, chat over tea and mingle without too much trouble.

Beyond these humble seeming rooms there was a kitchen, decked out in everything possible. A small cold cellar provided ample storage for meats, cheeses and milks. Cupboards would be stocked with foodstuffs, utensils, dishes and a whole array of whatever would be required to serve and entertain guests. The kitchen was likely to house several working chefs and assistants. A door in the back of the kitchen led outside.. another door, which branched off from the room with no fireplace headed out into the patio.

Second Floor

The second floor starts with the curled snake of the dual staircase, leading up to a open-faced hallway .. displaying art (which is also found on the walls on the first floor) as its centerpiece. This particular piece of art showcases the Lady of the House, Caramelle, over a long desk topped with flowers to further accentuate the theme of the house. The hallway goes left and right..

To the left are four doors before the hallway ends and curls to the right. Each door is given a number, pressed into a small golden plaque hammered to the door. Behind each door with a number, there is a themed room. Some are oriental, some are western, some are arabian and some are just overly extravegant displays of rich fabric and refinery. Once you meet the hall's 'end' and go down the hall there is one door down that way, leading into a large room where a piano would sit along with a magnificent bed. A large mirror, closet and vanity dominate one wall. There were a pair of windows, draped in extraordinary cloth looking out the back of the house.

To the right of the stairs, another similar hallway--with doors numbered. This hall, too, branches off to a single large room which is only given a piano and some seating arrangements. Again, there was this comfortable air within the room Obviously this was another room to entertain guests in with music and chatter.
