Janis Williams is a hard-working woman and always has been. She took up the sword with the Order of Straka when she was old enough to, and trained with them until the day they effectively disbanded under Captain Thomas Daniels. She was one of the many that shifted uniforms over to the Brotherhood of Janerio afterwards. She's skillful with a blade, though she enjoys no particular reputation for it.

Somewhat of a recluse, Janis spends much of her time studying and practicing the Arcane Arts, for which she's developed a particular affinity for. She has been consulted on occasion about the uses of magic, particularly during times of great danger in Myrken Wood.

Appearance

The ex-Straka Corporal isn't a picturesque guard; she has a thin, feminine frame, and a height not exactly inspiring terror into the hearts of evil. Her profession has made her fit, though she is neither remarkably strong or dextrous. She has long, dirty-blonde hair, dark green eyes and soft features. There's a subtle, but strong beauty about the woman - if her reclusive nature wasn't a hindrance, Janis would have likely found a husband by now.

Other Description

Janis' studies have been centralized mainly in the Evocation and Abjuration magics until the heavy Drow presence, which prompted the woman to seek out shadier abilities. She has no hopes of attaining the power Coran D'zir or Neimad have, honing her talents simply for her own personal growth and her duty as a guardwoman to protect the innocent citizens of Myrken Wood.

History

Janis has shown herself to a be a resourceful woman, finding her way on many strange investigations and tasks for the Order of Straka - including the personal safety of the late Joseph O'Cynen during the time when the Baie was rumored to have targeted the Councilor.

Fortunately, unlike the former Captain Daniels, Janis has stayed discreet in her dealings around the Broken Dagger and other highly anti-Straka areas, hardly earning the recognition of those who frequent those places, let alone the ire and sour reputation many officials enjoyed.

Current Status

Janis is often at the Library of Mudd, studying fervently the darker Arts the Drow are so fond of. The tavern guard D'ran witnessed some of the fruits of her research.
