Description
Marian Aengus holds some of the same basic physical attributes that she held prior to her transformation from being fairy king Richard Aengus. She still has the same corpulent frame and the same pink tint to herself, although she is, indeed, putting on even more weight than she had before with the growth of her four children. Marian has, of course, lost the fluffy, pink beard she sported as Richard, but in its place, she has regrown a head of soft, pink hair with the help of various ointments and minor magic.
By contrast to her former attire as Richard, Marian must wear much more serious, somber attire as dictated by strict caste laws within both Hiberan regions. Although the society is highly matriarchal, with mothers receiving the utmost respect, women, especially mothers, have highly regimented rules they must follow regarding their dress and habits. Thus, she wears a wimple with formal dresses in red, purple, or pink, occasionally with the midsections open to reveal the intense, permanently brilliant stain known as "Mother's Light" that Hiberan fairy mothers experience as their infants begin to glow for the first time within the womb.
In addition to the differences in appearance, the changes in body and role have affected Marian deeply. Marian has put aside most of Richard's former mischievous, playful side, becoming a much more sober, rational fairy due to being utterly consumed by and concerned with her impending role as a mother-to-be of her quartet of babies.
Background
Origins
Marian began life as fairy king Richard Aengus. However, as Richard grew old and realized that there were no female, pinkwing counterparts anywhere to marry to produce heirs for the Hiberan throne, he took the desperate step of having himself turned into a woman. Fervent devotion to Marta, Mother Goddess from the Church of Tubbius, saw Marian immaculately conceiving four children--an extreme rarity, as Hiberan fairy mothers to this point had only carried one or two children at most.
On beginning this new phase of life, Marian realized that she would require a King, as a Queen Mother raising four children would not be able to turn proper energies to the kingdom and to the infants, especially since Hiberan children age much more slowly than their human counterparts, with fairies growing the equivalent of one human year for every five they take to do so. Marian thus began a brief courtship with Oswald Grimley of Old Hibera, falling for him much harder than one might expect. Even with the truth of her past identity coming to light, the two were married happily on February 8, A. R. 214.
The Broken Dagger
Marian's attitudes about the Broken Dagger have not changed even if her body has; she stays far away from the dangerous "bigling" establishment.
The Present
Marian currently awaits the birth of her four infants, having been ordered to bed rest by her physician and half-brother, Dr. Orin Barrin. Hiberan fairy births are generally six months and roughly a week longer. The children are due, by the doctor's estimate, between July 20 and August 1.
Plots
The Queen Mother is an active character on the forums more than in the channel; however, she rarely interacts with anyone outside of her kingdom, especially humans, and thus sees no impact on most ongoing plot lines.
