Description
Oswald Horace Aengus is an elderly fairy hailing from the now-renamed Old Hibera. Like his wife, Marian, he is a pink fairy, from skin to hair to wings to magical glow. The pitiful amount of hair he has left is combed over sparsely on his otherwise gleaming bald head; his mustache, however, more than makes up for the absence there, being a veritable pink, fluffy mess, though with no extra beard. Oswald stands a full half inch taller than his beloved (though still short by Hiberan fairy standards by another half inch), and, currently, he is not nearly as round. Being a neophyte in the Church of Tubbius at his wife's and brother-in-law's combined insistence, the formerly gaunt fairy is beginning to put on considerable weight and girth over time. In terms of dress, Oswald favors suits: formally cut, pink outfits usually worn with a white sash from his left shoulder to his right hip.
Background
Origins
Oswald Aengus, formerly Oswald Grimley, was born in Old Hibera, where he lived until his marriage. He, however, was not born into the royal line, instead being the eldest brother of the Queen there. In 207 AR, though, a human-brought plague ravaged the kingdom, killing approximately three hundred of the total 1,300 fairies. Among these were James Aengus, cousin to Richard Aengus and the former Lord Protector (an interim position held between times of new royalty being appointed), and the existing King and Queen, who were childless. After a week of legal challenges for the throne, Oswald's proved valid, and he was instituted as King of Old Hibera.
The Broken Dagger
Oswald has never set foot in the Broken Dagger, only traveling straight through Amasynia and Myrken Wood invisibly with his entourage before reaching New Hibera. During the unification of the two kingdoms, his whitewinged mages established a direct portal between the two from the base of the New Hibera cave to the former Old Hibera, ensuring that no fairies need to step out into Myrken Wood to travel between halves of the kingdom again unless they need to for other reasons.
The Present
In 214 AR, Oswald made the request of reuniting the split Hiberan kingdoms, finding out only on his arrival to New Hibera that King Richard had undergone a spell of alteration to change his gender in preparation for a divine conception of children and subsequent motherhood. Despite the newly named Marian's background, the two fell in love with each other quickly and were wed on February 8, 214 AR. Oswald now devotes himself to the Church of Tubbius as a green-robed Novice and to his new wife as a happy husband and her newborn children as a doting, adoptive father.
