Description

Raigen is a friendly sort, never shy, although most may be weary of approaching him at first glance. His is rarely unarmed and carries two short swords, a cutlass, four knives, a longbow and quiver. He usually wears a dark green shirt under his black, leather vest. His hooded cloak is dark green and goes down to his boots, covering most of his body. He is dressed to withstand the cold and rarely complains about hot weather. Once past his abrasive visage, he is quick with coin and never shys from buying a stranger a drink. But don't take his generosity lightly, he will quickly drink a much larger man under the table.

Background

Origins

Born in New Dauntless some time between 190 and 192 AD, the rumor is that he was raised by wolves...pirates...bears. In reality, his mother died in childbirth and his father was a soldier who died in battle. Raigen had a normal childhood with his grandparents who raised him as a leatherworkers apprentice. After his grandparents died, he moved into the mountains and traded leather, herbs, and pelts with the fishing villages for coin. By the time he had reached young adulthood, he signed on with a crew of brigands and sailed to the Red Caps as a pirate. It is unclear how he amassed so much wealth in just five years, but he could surely afford to live the rest of his life without working a single day.

The Broken Dagger

Raigen's business in Myrken Wood is unclear, but he has taken lodging at the Broken Dagger for the winter under the pretense of "Waiting out the Winter before heading south."

The Present

Raigen is as skilled a Ranger as he is a leatherworker, and although he doesn't need the coin, he can be hired for a small fee as a guide, bodyguard, or what-have-you.
