Description
Ember is a tiny runt of a dragonette no more than ten inches long from her beak like snout to the tip of her spaded tail. She has a soft orange hide instead of hard scales that feels reminiscent of suede. Her coloration varies from darker and reddish on her back to lighter and more yellow on her belly. Splotchy looking stripes adorn her from neck to tail, giving Ember a good camouflage amongst dead and dried leaves. She sports a pair of malformed nubs jutting out from the back of her head that if properly developed, may have become horns, and a crest of three webbed spines running in between the nubs, from the top of her head to mid neck. Her eyes look a little large for her head and are opalescent, changing their color with her mood. Ember`s wings look a little too large for her body but function properly. Lastly, not really a physical thing, but Ember`s scent is like a cross between cinnamon and nutmeg, with a touch of sea salt.
Background
Origins
Stolen from her nest as an egg along with her siblings to be sold as pets. Ember`s egg was small and underdeveloped and it was thought she wouldn't hatch at all. No one bought the egg believing that even if it did yield a hatchling it wouldn't live very long. But she did survive to hatching, and even thrived, but it was too late to sell her hatched. Her breed was only good to make a pet out of if bonded right out of the shell. It was too late for that with Ember` and the moment her wings dried of egg fluid she instinctively teleported away. Genetic memory showed her a beach and she followed the image to it on reflex. With help from some camping humans, she not only survived, but thrived, staying close to them until she was big and strong enough to look after herself. Her name comes from the fact that one of the camping humans pointed out that she "Looks like an ember from the campfire, come to life." Ember has since journeyed the world hoping to find other dragons, amassing herself a good sized hoard that is equal parts actual coins and gems, and trinkets she finds amusing. It was during these travels that she was given the proper Draconic name of Aryxonvaeros which translates to Graceful Fire. - She still prefers the simple and cute sounding Ember. Now, it's been many years and Ember hasn't seen another dragon in so long, she hopes to meet some cousins at the Broken Dagger.
