As is the case in most IRC channels, abbreviations pepper our OOC conversations -- and the roleplay-related ones can be particularly confusing to a new player. The following is a list of those abbreviations most frequently encountered in our channels.
Common IRC Abbreviations
- AFK: Away From Keyboard
- BRB: Be Right Back
- BBIAB: Be Back In A Bit
- WB: Welcome Back
- TY: Thank You
- LOL: Laugh Out Loud
- ROFL: Rolling On The Floor Laughing
- PM: Private Message
- OP: Channel Operator
Roleplay-Specific Abbreviations
- RP: Role Play
- FFRP: Free Form Role Play
- MFFRP: Medieval Free Form Role Play
- IC: In Character
- OOC: Out Of Character
- BIC: Back In Character
- PG: Power Gaming
