A mild spring yields the beginning of a quiet summer. The bonds of inactivity that often plague small towns during winter has been shaken away: the song of hammer rings against nails and boards as damages from the cold are repaired; as fields are cleanly shaved of their useless growth, courteous farmers scatter shorn grass and wheat-husks across the muddy streets.
- After a long and bitter winter, at last relief arrives in the form of food convoys from the South. The caravaneers have established an impromptu Spring Fair to the south of Myrkentown.
- With the food shipments travels a full regiment of Trae Kelsan troops - presumably marching north to put down the Thessil rebellion, though they have made camp not far from the Spring Fair.
