Description

Libri holds an appearance much more like his mother, Marta, than his half-slug father, The Glutton: he is a short, balding, white-haired male with a white, close-cropped beard. Libri has inherited his parents' corpulence, a fact he relishes and enjoys due to his closeness to his parents. For clothes, Libri wears the black robe and cap of a university scholar or professor, as scholarship is his personal devotion.

Mythos Details

Libri was born in a fit of boisterous, bombastic pique from his father, who was demanding of The Creator that he be made foremost of his divine counterparts after he felt that the newly created Marta was an intrusion on his position. Overall, The Scholar keeps to his own company, overseeing the flow of scholarship to mortal humans. There are exceptions, however, when the mischievous deity will slip away from his divine pursuit to visit The Glutton (being one of the very few whom the Great Slug will tolerate) or one of his father's various other forms of Tubbius, Porcus, Marta, or Councilor Treadwell. Out of respect for the Mother Goddess' original position separate from The Glutton, as Libri's own mother, Libri will always refer to her either by name or by a variant of "Mother" or "Mum." Finally, Libri is solely responsible for revealing to Treadwell the truth of his position as the embodiment of The Glutton early in A. R. 210, although he initially introduced himself as a cousin, not as a son, in a fit of playfulness.

Background

Origins

Born after a gestation of five centuries, Libri quickly grew to advanced age and great girth, matching his parents in short order for a deity. On adulthood, he assumed his role as caretaker of scholastic pursuits.

The Broken Dagger

Libri will not appear in the Broken Dagger or in most public areas. He has on exceedingly rare and brief instances appeared in the company of Councilor Treadwell when the Councilor has been completely alone at the local Church of Tubbius.

The Present

Barring such rare and isolated appearances, Libri spends most of his time in his own scholar's tower.

Libri has not appeared in any major, overarching plots for the channel.
