The Wall, also known in common parlance as The Ringwall, is a vast construction of wood and stone encircling Myrken Wood. Its primary function is defensive: to keep undesirable elements from invading, to ensure the safety of residents inside the province, and to monitor travel in and out of the province.
Begun in early AR 205, its assembly was a gigantic joint effort between civilian and military elements. Materials to build the stone-and-wood structure were brought from quarries and forests in Myrken Wood and surrounding provinces, including limestone imported from Derry.
It also inspired a flurry of activity and employment for the months of its construction, including Straka divisions, members of the Myrken Militia and Captain Kerrak's Brotherhood of Janeiro, carpenters, stonemasons, draftsmen, common labourers, and greedy opportunists of all kinds.
The maintenance of the Wall continues to be a pet project of Councilor Giscard Guillaume, and many of his own men from Lothbury Estate were allotted to assist in its construction.
Many residents of Myrken Wood believe that the Wall is "cursed."
