Forestry is a blanket term for the many, many services and goods that Myrken Wood's forests are plumbed for. That which is not water or mountain is, true to it's namesake, Wood, with vast wealds, temperate rain forests, and thickets either smothering the uplands and moors or stubbornly dotting the areas cleared for farming. That which does not come from Myrken's waters comes from her forests, with many a man or woman pulling their fortunes from the dense undergrowth and towering trees.

Hunting
Save for a few properties, where the rich have bought the land and maintain their beasts for hobby-hunting, a large part of Myrken Wood is both untamed and unregulated in terms of beasts. Her forests are rich with much game, from black bear to squirrels. Deer, elk, and moose are regularly hunted, though any fine cuts of meat, from any animal, are saved to be sold in village and town, packed on mountain snow. Pelts, teeth, claws, scales, and fine feathers for ornamentation are always in demand. Anyone with wits, determination, and a healthy respect for his prey can earn a grand living off his or her hunts.

Any number of these are always in high demand from professionals, such as confectioners, cooks, perfume-makers, apothecaries, and dye-makers, and even the average Myrkener keeps a sharp eye out for anything to add to the evening meal.
Charcoal Burners
When coal and green wood is impractical or expensive, charcoal is the alternative, with much of the population relying on such fuel. A good portion of the industry is performed in the East Weald to avoid angering Myrken's elvish neighbors in the west, and is centered around the outpost of Charvale. From Charvale's great stoves charcoal is hauled down to the River, to be shipped up- or down-stream, wherever it might be needed.
Lumber
With such an abundance and selection of hardwoods and softwoods, it is not uncommon to see great logs, hewn and stripped of their branches, being skillfully maneuvered through river and lake to be sent to other parts of the kingdom. Though Myrken Wood enjoys some amateur wood-work and artistry, for the most part her woods are exported to other, more artistic places, to be carved into tables, chairs, idols, and other goods.
