• The assassin Ebon Viper is dispatched to Myrken Wood, hired to ensure the death of Councilor Joseph O'Cynen.

• Ardel Curin is hired by Lieutenant Duvall as a new member of the Order of Straka. Within a month, she has beaten Karol Kaczmarek so severely as to leave him crippled, instigating a feud that is to last for years.

• Councilor Guillaume declares Governor Bromn officially dead, and claims the title of Interim Governor. His first act is to command the policing of Myrken Wood's borders by both the Order of Straka and the Myrken Militia.

• Khalika Quiller opens a boardinghouse with attached stables, on the side of Myrkentown opposite to the Broken Dagger.

• The ravaged estate of Alexander Kanashia is purchased; that day, a group of some thirty armoured men set about demolishing what remains of its ruins. They are accompanied by another twenty who bear various supplies, their resemblance to the enigmatic N'Ylim Fath'ir close enough as to suggest kinship. By month's end, a vast granite construction has been raised in its place.

• The child Avel is born to Altias Bromn, who is held at the time in the care of his friend, Alosius Treadwell.
