Civic Council

A Civic Council is a body of citizens assembled to govern over a Borough Town, usually headed by a Chairman or Mayor; selection of Councillors varies from town to town, with some being elected by their peers, others being apppointed by virtue of their wealth, influence or land ownership. Each Civic Council is entitled to seats at the Grand Parliament, the number of seats available fixed by that town's charter.
