So, my laptop has decided that it should start overheating again. As a result, I will no longer be idling in any channels. So, if you need me and I'm not around, drop me a PM on the boards!

...put it in your fridge. Putting my Xbox in the freezer always helped when it was overheating!

It shouldn't. I don't think the fridge's cooling temperature is below the optimal CPU/motherboard temperature...it's definitely okay for short periods, at the very least. I really did throw my Xbox in the freezer for five-ten minutes to cool it down for a few hours of gameplay.

Hmm...maybe you shouldn't leave it in there...the average numbers I just looked up seem to think that an average refrigerator operating temp (40 F) is one degree below the lower bound you should store your laptop (41 F). Of course, while the laptop is on, it generates more heat. There's also mention that the vegetable drawers are significantly warmer (50ish F), so it'd probably be safe with the veggies!

...but maybe you should only throw it temporarily.
