A bit of sad news.

A bit of sad news.

Hey, folks. This isn't related to the BD or anyone in it except for me, but I wanted to share it with you in the hope that I could receive a little support in what is a very hard, terrible situation -- not just for myself, but for the families of my friends as well.

Today I learned that one of my coworkers and the sister of another coworker were murdered last night. Here's the news article from the local paper about it:

Man charged in double homicide

Sean and Lori were fairly typical in that they had experienced some stumbles in life, but at their cores were good, solid people who loved life and the people in their lives. They were friends of mine -- not the closest of friends, to be honest, but I knew each of them well enough and vice versa. They certainly didn't deserve what happened to them, and I sincerely hope they're happier wherever they are now.

This has hit everyone at my work very hard, myself included, as you can likely imagine ... so I just wanted to gather a bit of support that I could use, and maybe pass along in a show of solidarity in this time of grief.

May you both rest in peace, Sean and Lori. If you're reading, I'll do whatever I can to show my love and support for your families.
I'll either find a way or make one.

As someone who works with murderers I can say from experience that it is utterly amazing how much devestation one person can wreak.

I've found great reassurance in knowing that I'm not alone when I've had to deal with my own wreckage from the past or helped friends deal with theirs. For what it's worth I've found this to be very inspiring for many of the darkest moments of my life.

I'm not sure of your religious or spiritual leanings, so please take it for what it is - some encouragement that even in those dark moments of the soul that there's still hope.

"But Zion said, "The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me." "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands... (Isaiah 49:14-16).'"

Hope you're doing alright, pal. Feel free to drop me a line if you want.
I wish I had a reason
My flaws are open season
For this I gave up trying
One good turn deserves my dying
