A Return?

A Return?

Postby Phoenix » Thu Nov 06, 2003 2:07 am

I feel very odd making a 'return' message, since I'm typically very bad at returning, and I typically don't announce it, and I typically never even use message boards for IRC-play. But what the hell, here goes...

Some of you may remember me - Most of you, undoubtedly, will not. But either way, I'm looking to make a return to online ffrp, specifically in the Broken Dagger. I can't say it'll be a quick and powerful return or anything, probably very gradual and cautious (as that seems the best way to stay in the swing of things, following a comeback). And, ironically, I'll probably be on here, the boards, more than in the channel. But that's how my situation is, unfortunately.

Now the moment where the scattered few of you get a chance to remember who I am. :) Those of you that know me out of character will know me as Peter (or, more frequently, 'Pete'). And those that've seen me in character more often will sooner recognize names like Veth'n, Derum, Kalis, Maav Stormkill, and many, many others. I had a knack for having too many characters for my own good.

Anyway - For those of you that remember - Thanks, and good to be back. For those that I don't know, I hope to get a chance to play with you all sometime. I'll do my best to stay in the neighborhood this time.

And by the way, it's good to see New Dauntless' military and other stuff turn out rather like I'd hoped it would. :) I wonder if Luther's still an available character. I greatly enjoyed designing him, it'd be nice to actually have a shot at playing him... Well, we'll see. I shouldn't get too far ahead of myself just yet.

With a name like 'Phoenix,' you were pretty much destined to return, eh? *winks*

Welcome back, Pete. *smiles*

lol, well, never let it be said that I don't pick appropriate names. :) There's not a limit on the number of times a Phoenix can rise, is there? If so, I'm bound to be running out, hehe...

Thanks for the welcome. ;)

Now that I know the Phoenix lurking about is -you-, I'll say hi next time.

Well now, hold on a second. I haven't actually ventured into the channel yet. Thus far, from my abode, only Lauren's been active in the channel. I'm just on here so far (Though I plan to drop by for a visit tonight).

So hopefully I've warned you in advance of tackling a Phoenix that's not me, as that seems to be the case. Heh. :) Which means, ofcourse, I need to figure out a new nick. Curses.

Good to see you again, Bethie :)

There is no limit to the number of times the Phoenix can rise again.

I did extensive research...

If Phoenix is placed in the graveyard from play, return it to owner's hand instead. It may not be summoned again until owner's next turn.

Her ashes new-create another heir
As great in admiration as herself.''

*Gives minotaur-noogies*

Glad to see you, Pete.
The boy waved a wooden sword at the minotaur he'd tried to 'slay'. "I wanna be a hero!"
Furred arms crossed loosely, the warrior's rumbling voice was mild. "What kind of hero?"
The boy scoffed. "There's only one kind!"
"Oh no," The minotaur replied. "There are a few. Ones that are heroes after they are dead, ones that are called such who do not deserve it, old heroes and young ones, new and tired. Willing and unwilling. Heroes to the masses, heroes to a few, heroes for the bards' songs."

...all right, Mongrel?

That's got to be one of the funniest goddamned things I've seen all day.

Up there with that beard picture and that trooper on the john...

Seriously. Maybe it's the sugar high?

But needless to say.

Pete! H'lo and welcome back. An' nice teh meet yeh. These forums ought to suit ya well. They seem like the best way to get acquainted with the current setting, although there's probably a lot of freaking back posts to get through...heh heh. I'm sure most people will give you more efficient answers straight up, though. :D

HI PETE

We need to go to that restaurant again, so I can look at that GURLOCK beer-can, or whatever the hell it was called.

Welcome BACK!

Dammit, Rance. Why must you go and tell everyone about our dates?

;) Your drow's pretty popular. I need to get in on the action, there. Sounds like a very, very awesome villain.
