Borough Town

In Amasynia a Borough Town is a town or city granted a charter by the Crown of Amasynia (in times past, the King at Ricathair, but in more recent years the King of Trae Kelsa) permitting that town an increased degree of autonomy in governing its own affairs. The governments of each Borough Town is expected to keep law and order and to maintain a force of troops for its own defence, and for defence of Amasynia as a whole in times of war.
