Character Creation

Coran was initially created as a tribute to Robert Jordan's fantasy series, The Wheel of Time. Over time, however, the character -- as most are wont to do -- developed its own personality, as well as its own set of abilities and limitations related to channeling, drawing the interest of other players and characters. Coran was begun on Prodigy Classic in the late spring of 1998, retired when Prodigy Classic closed down, and revived when the character's player came to the Broken Dagger on IRC.

This Coran D'zir bears no relation and/or similarity, name aside, to the character of the same name in Palladium Books' RIFTS™ series.

Genesis

Coran D'zir was born to Joran and Delmia D'zir in the town of Skogsby, a remote community in the depths of western Amasynia. Their only child, Coran was by no means spoiled -- theirs were farmers' lives, and they earned their living along with the town entirety. While they owned a house in Skogsby, they typically spent just autumn and winter there, preferring to live on Joran's farm, which lay a good distance from the town proper -- some fifteen miles. The D'zir's chief crops were tobacco and wool; they also provided meat (pork, beef, chicken, etc.) and milk (both cow's and goat's), and it was rumored that Delmia brewed a fine beer for family and friends.
